March Madness is heating up with some marquee matchups to kick off the Round of 32. One game all college basketball fans should have their eye on is Wisconsin vs. BYU. These are two of the better offensive squads in the country, capable of shooting the ball from anywhere on the court. For the Badgers, their scoring attack begins and ends with John Tonje. The senior has emerged as one of the nation’s best guards, leading Wisconsin to a 27-9 record this season.

Best John Tonje prop bet for Saturday
It’s no secret that Tonje is a scorer. The 23-year-old leads Wisconsin with 19.1 points per game on efficient 46.1/39.0/91.2 shooting splits. However, he’s not much of a passer, averaging just 1.8 assists per game. To be fair, it’s tough to blame the guard, as he’s usually able to get whatever he wants without relying on anyone else. That might not be the case tonight in a tense NCAA Tournament environment.
BYU, Wisconsin’s opponent on Saturday, enters this contest having won ten of its last 11 games. The Cougars are an offensive juggernaut, putting up the 29th-most points per game (80.9). However, the team only ranks 69th in adjusted defensive efficiency on KenPom (100.7). One of their biggest weaknesses on defense is guarding the pass. Opponents have produced 13.1 assists per game against BYU, the ninth-worst mark in the Big 12.
As previously mentioned, Tonje isn’t the most refined passer. However, he’s recorded at least two assists in 18 of his 36 appearances this season (50.0 %). Assuming BYU’s defense double-teams the guard, there will be opportunities to get the rest of the Badgers involved.
