Trey Murphy III to miss rest of season

UPDATE: The Pelicans have announced that Murphy has suffered a torn labrum and partial tear of his rotator cuff in his right shoulder and will miss the rest of the season.

UPDATE: X-rays were negative for Murphy, but he will not return to Monday’s contest.

After the first possession during Monday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, Trey Murphy III ($7,400) dove for a loose ball at halfcourt and injured his shoulder. He is now in the locker room.

Jordan Hawkins ($3,300) was the direct substitue for Murphy.
