Guard

Stud

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks at Charlotte Hornets ($9,800): This game has the highest total on the slate at 237. Atlanta is seventh in pace over the last 10 games while both teams are in the bottom third for defensive rating. Young is the maestro of the Hawks offense, garnering a 31% usage rate on the season. He’s put up over 50 FPTS in five of the last six games, with a high of 62.75 FPTS, which he did agaisnt the Hornets three games ago.

Other Options: James Harden ($10,300), Donovan Mitchell ($8,800), Derrick White ($7,300), Dyson Daniels ($6,900), Keon Johnson ($6,100)

Value

Jrue Holiday, Boston Celtics vs. Brooklyn Nets ($5,200): Holiday has put up over 40 FPTS in each of the last two games, with 44.25 FPTS against these Nets. He’s stuffing the stat sheet and playing 35 to 38 minutes a night. Jaylen Brown has already been ruled out for this one while Jayson Tatum is questionable, so Holiday could see an uptick in usage.

Other Options: Payton Pritchard ($5,800), Moses Moody ($5,300), Nick Smith Jr. ($4,700)

Forward

Stud

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks at Golden State Warriors ($11,500): Antetokounmpo has put up over 50 FPTS in 11 of the last 12 games, with over 60 FPTS in each of the two most recent contests. He has the highest floor/ceiling combo on the slate. The Warriors have been third in defensive rating over the last 10 games, but Giannis laughs at defensive ratings.

Other Options: Jayson Tatum ($10,800) if he plays, Kawhi Leonard ($8,200), Cam Johnson ($7,100)

Value

Wendell Moore Jr., Charlotte Hornets vs. Atlanta Hawks ($3,100): I have no idea who starts for Miles Bridges, but I think Moore has a chance to get the nod. He played 21 minutes off the bench on Sunday, putting up 20 FPTS. I’d only click on his name if he starts, though. At close to minimum, he could play 30 minutes if he does.

Other Options: Moses Moody ($5,300), Al Horford ($5,100) if he starts, Sam Hauser ($4,100), DaQuan Jeffries ($4,000)

Center

Stud

Ivica Zubac, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers ($8,400): Zubac only played 28 minutes on Sunday, yet still put up 51.5 FPTS in a blowout. When games are tight, he’s usually playing around 38 minutes. This contest against the Cavaliers should be a close one, as Cleveland is favored by only three points on the road. Outside of another blowout on Friday, Zubac had put up at least 40 FPTS in six straight.

Other Options: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,500), Mark Williams ($8,100), Onyeka Okongwu ($7,500), Jarrett Allen ($7,000)

Value

Al Horford, Boston Celtics vs. Brooklyn Nets ($5,100): I don’t like any of the value at center on this slate. If Horford starts and plays over 30 minutes, then he’s my choice, but Kristaps Porzingis is back and he played 32 minutes last game.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
