On Sunday, the NBA features a five-game main slate on DraftKings. A pair of games tip at 6:00 p.m. ET, two more games begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the late-night hammer is the Thunder visiting the Bucks in a very exciting matchup. Looking at the 10 teams in action, three stand out as strong options to attack for stacking your NBA DFS lineup.
The Bucks and Thunder are both playing for the second night in a row along with the Nets, and the Timberwolves, Trail Blazers, Raptors and Jazz are scheduled to be back in action on Monday. With seven of the 10 teams on the slate on one half of a back-to-back set of games, there are still some big question marks, so keep a close eye on today’s injury report and shift your strategy if necessary as tip-off approaches.
The NBA DFS contests for tonight’s main slate lock at 6:00 p.m. ET, headlined by the NBA $150K Fadeaway x[$50K to 1st].
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Utah Jazz
The Timberwolves get a favorable home matchup against the Jazz, who have been resting their regulars and will be missing key players again on Sunday. Over the last 10 games, the Jazz have allowed 122.7 points per game, the third-highest in the league over that span. Utah has the fastest pace over that span as well, which should allow the Timberwolves to pile up points on Sunday night. Mike Conley (rest) is out, but the rest of the roster is expected to be available.
Core Plays: The focal point of the Timberwolves’ offense is definitely Anthony Edwards ($9,100), who is in an especially juicy matchup since the Jazz have allowed the most fantasy points per game to his position. He has scored 25+ points in three straight games and in five of his last seven games. During that run, he had a huge game with 44 points and 67.25 fantasy points against the Suns and posted 40+ fantasy points in four of his last five contests. He had 36 points and 69 fantasy points against the Jazz earlier this season. Julius Randle ($7,400) and Rudy Gobert ($6,000) are healthy in the frontcourt, which takes workload and upside from Naz Reid ($6,800) and Jaden McDaniels ($6,400).
Value Options: Without Conley, Donte DiVincenzo ($5,500) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($3,700) should get more work and be good value plays. DiVincenzo has scored double-digit points in eight straight games, averaging 32.0 fantasy points per game. NAW has scored double-digit points in three of his last four games despite limited minutes and has shown a high ceiling when he has a bigger role.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Toronto Raptors
The Trail Blazers are also in a home matchup as they start a back-to-back against the Raptors. It should be a favorable spot for whoever is available, but there could be huge usage available since Anfernee Simons ($7,100; hand) and Robert Williams ($3,600; knee) are questionable, while Jerami Grant ($5,200; knee) is doubtful. Deandre Ayton (calf) and Jabari Walker (concussion) remain out as well, leaving more time in the frontcourt.
Core Plays: Without Grant, Deni Avdija ($6,800) has been on a nice roll. He has over 50 fantasy points in each of his last two games and three of his last five. His best game during that run was last Monday against the Warriors when he had 34 points, 16 rebounds, six assists and 68 fantasy points. He and Shaedon Sharpe ($6,500) would carry the offense without Simons. Shape has started the last eight games, averaging 32.3 fantasy points per contest. In his four games this season without Simons, he averaged 37.5 fantasy points.
Value Options: Scoot Henderson ($5,400) had 30 points and 39.25 fantasy points against the Knicks on Wednesday and would also get more work without Simons. Rookie Donovan Clingan ($5,300) has over 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games and will have a great matchup against the Raptors, who allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to centers. Matisse Thybulle ($3,000) appears to be nearing his season debut but remains a high-risk punt play. Dalano Banton ($3,000) and Kris Murray ($3,700) are other bargain plays that make sense in the backcourt if Simons is out.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks
The Nets played the Celtics tough on Saturday, and they’ll finish their back-to-back in an up-tempo spot at home against the Hawks. With Cam Thomas (hamstring) done for the season and D’Angelo Russell (injury management) out, there will be plenty of work in the backcourt on Sunday, and enough usage to make the Nets a bargain stack to consider for NBA DFS.
Core Plays: Cameron Johnson ($6,100) had a huge game on Saturday, finishing with 47 fantasy points on 23 points, 10 boards and six assists in 35 minutes. He had over 37 fantasy points in three of his last four games and will need to carry even more of the load with Russell out. In his nine games without Thomas, Russell and Dennis Schroder (trade), Johnson averaged 36.2 fantasy points. Nic Claxton ($5,500) has also been very good lately and had a double-double with 46.5 fantasy points in his last game on Thursday.
Value Options: Without Russell, Keon Johnson ($5,100) will likely take on most of the work at point guard with Reece Beekman ($3,000) getting minutes off the bench. Johnson had 21 points and 36 fantasy points against Boston on Saturday and is a solid play with a high ceiling, although he has also been very volatile. Jalen Wilson ($3,200) and Tyrese Martin ($4,500) will also likely get more shots, and Ziaire Williams ($4,900) will be another strong play under $5,000 after posting over 27 fantasy points in four of his last five games.
