Let’s breakdown a matchup for a chance to advance to the Big Ten Championship Game.
Wisconsin vs. Michigan State (1:00pm ET)
Michigan State is peaking at the right time, and while we’ll have to wait and see if it can carry that momentum into the NCAA Tournament, it’s clear that Sparty is still playing its best basketball to begin the Big Ten Tournament. MSU was bet up as a favorite over a very good Oregon team on Friday afternoon, and pretty easily maintained a double digit lead throughout the game.
While Wisconsin earned a convincing win over UCLA on Friday, the Badgers have shown plenty of weaknesses recently. Wisco ended regular season play losing three of its final five games, two of them as a favorite, and the other to this very Michigan State team. Sparty has advantages all over the floor in this one, in terms of talent, depth and coaching, so I’m expecting them to defeat the Badgers in a rematch of two weeks ago.
I’m only placing one unit on this one pregame, just in case the Michigan State second half play presents itself in this one. Sparty ended the regular season on a 9-1 2H ATS run, so if this game is close at all, or has MSU trailing, I’ll come back in and play them again. Michigan State was trailing to Wisconsin at halftime two weeks ago and came back to win by nine points.
