A shorthanded Oklahoma City Thunder squad travels to Detroit tonight for a meeting with the Pistons. While Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren have both been ruled out for the contest, MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is positioned for a massive outing and even higher usage than usual.

Here’s the top Gilgeous-Alexander prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 7 p.m. EST tip-off.

DraftKings Sportsbook lists Gilgeous-Alexander’s lines at 34.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line is currently 46.5.

The opposing Pistons are reeling following an ugly loss to the NBA-worst Washington Wizards in their last outing. Detroit looks to bounce back and they’re sure to be extra motivated tonight as they take on the Western Conference leaders. The Pistons are competitive and their defense is average-to-good as they rank ninth in rebounding, 10th in defensive rating, and 14th in opponent PPG.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s points line is insanely high at 34.5, but it’s understandable why it would be listed as such with both Williams and Holmgren out tonight. Shai averages 32.8 PPG, and without either of his co-stars tonight, he should be in line for a gargantuan usage rate. In a typical setting, the under would be the move. However, tonight is an exception. SGA should take plenty of shots and he’s gone over this high line in three of his last five contests. As wild as it sounds, the over might be the move in this spot at -115 odds.

With that in mind, bettors with a high risk tolerance can take advantage of Gilgeous-Alexander’s expected workload and go even higher in the points market. He’s got 11 games of 40-plus points this season, with three of those coming in the last five games. His alt line of 40+ points is available at +195 odds tonight, and while risky, the MVP candidate is riding a hot streak and in line to power the entire offense. Few players boast production that could make this a worthwhile wager, but SGA is one of the elite.
