Jayson Tatum continues to lead the Celtics’ strong push to the playoffs after dropping 28 points in a win over the Heat last night. The four-time All-NBA selection is posting some of the best all-around production of his career, and tonight, he’s on the road against the Nets.
Here’s the top Tatum prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 6 p.m. EST tip-off.
Best Jayson Tatum prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Tatum’s lines on DraftKings Sportsbook are set at 28.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line is currently 43.5.
At first glance, the Nets are an enticing matchup. They rank 23rd in defensive rating, 28th in rebounding, 24th in opponent 3P%, and 27th in opponent FG%. A deeper dive into the numbers reveals they’re actually allowing the ninth-fewest rebounds and points to opponents and play at the NBA’s slowest pace, so possessions can be hard to come by against this team.
However, Nets center Nic Claxton and power forward Noah Clowney are both out tonight, as is shooting guard Cam Thomas. This is a shorthanded team missing their best rebounders and scorer against a contending Celtics squad, so it could get ugly quickly.
One bet to check out is Tatum to record at double-double at +100 odds. He’s tallied 29 double-doubles on the campaign, good for nearly half his 62 appearances. The star forward hits the board at a high level and without Claxton and Clowney in the Nets’ lineup, this positions Tatum well. For a slightly less-risky option, consider taking the over on his 8.5 rebounds line at -120 odds.
Tatum’s scoring line of 28.5 points is high, however, there’s reason to believe he could go over on this one at -115 odds. He posted 33 and 36 points against the Nets in his two matchups against them back in November, so there’s precedent for a high-scoring night. There’s a bit of risk involved with Tatum potentially getting pulled in a Celtics blowout. While the team hasn’t yet submitted an injury report coming off the first leg of the back-to-back, Jaylen Brown missed last night’s game. If he misses tonight’s action, Tatum’s chances of going over the 28.5-point line increase.
