Best LaMelo Ball prop bets for Hornets vs. Clippers: Sunday 3/16/25

While Sunday will primarily be focused on college hoops, the NBA doesn’t stop. There are still eight games on Sunday, March 16. One of those will be the Hornets vs. Clippers game that was rescheduled from Jan. 11.

Neither squad played on Saturday, so they’ll be fresh. There are a handful of stars to keep an eye on, including James Harden, Kawhi Leonard and LaMelo Ball.

That being said, the game isn’t projected to be close. Los Angeles is favored by 12 points and the game total is set at 222 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Below, I have featured my favorite Ball prop bets to consider from this contest.

LaMelo Ball over 3.5 made three-pointers (-120)

Ball is a special talent stuck on a Hornets team rotting at the bottom of the standings. The season isn’t technically over, but Charlotte has the NBA lottery marked on its calendar.

The Hornets’ offense goes as far as Ball can take it. He has a 36 percent usage rate, which is the highest in the NBA. Because of this, it makes it difficult to bet the under on Ball’s props. He has the ball in his hands too often.

While his points per game average has fallen off since earlier in the season, Ball is still shooting an absurd amount of shots. He doesn’t qualify on NBA leaderboards since he’s only played 43 games, but Ball is shooting the most field goals per game (21.6) and the most three-pointers per game (11.5).

If there was a prop bet for shot attempts, Ball’s would be ridiculously high. Here’s the next best option, though: Ball to make over 3.5 three-pointers. Yes, efficiency is a concern with him as he’s shooting just 40.4 percent from the field and 33.7 percent from deep. However, he’s taking so many shots.

Over his last seven games, Ball has attempted at least 10 three-pointers in six outings. The one outlier is a nine-attempt game. He’s averaging four made threes during this stretch as well. It isn’t a lucky run against poor teams either. The Hornets have played teams of all levels over the past seven games.

Efficiency will always be a concern with Ball unless he changes his play style or joins a new system. But Ball’s free-flowing style allows him to shoot double-digit three-pointers per night no matter how many are going in. He doesn’t lose confidence.

Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky said it best “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Bettors should want Ball to shoot as much as possible. While efficiency may be a concern, Ball can’t make a shot if he doesn’t take it.

Tune into the Clippers vs. Hornets game to watch Ball let it fly. Bettors can watch each three-pointer soar toward the basket with hopes of it cashing their slip.
