Just five games between ten teams are set to tip off on Thursday across the NBA. The matchup of the day is a superstar showdown between Luka Doncic’s Lakers and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks. Later, the Warriors host the Kings in a battle of Western Conference playoff contenders. Even on a small slate, there’s plenty of ways to get in on the action with DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball selections before tonight’s contests!
Dennis Schroder more than 10.5 points

In a move that flew under the radar, the Pistons made a deal with the Warriors for Dennis Schroder. The trade, Schroder’s second this season, gives Detroit a reliable ball handler to run the offense with and without Cade Cunningham on the court. Since joining his new team, the veteran has averaged 9.7 points on 39.8% shooting over 13 games.
Those numbers, while unimpressive, have improved recently. Over Schroder’s last four games, he’s recorded at least 11 points. That streak should continue on Thursday against an anemic Wizards defense. This season, Washington has allowed the most points (122.4) and the fourth-most three pointers (14.3) per game. As long as he plays over 20 minutes tonight, Detroit’s newest acquisition is poised for another solid outing.
Jordan Poole more than 19.5 points

We’ll stay in Detroit, where the Wizards will look to earn their 14th win of the 2024-25 campaign. While things look bleak in our nation’s capital, Jordan Poole has enjoyed the best season of his young career. Through 54 games, the guard has posted 21.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting 42.3% from the field (37.4 3PT%).
Although Washington enters Thursday’s contest as underdogs, they could find some success on offense. The Pistons have allowed 120.3 points over their last three games. That’s the ninth-worst mark in the NBA during that time. Poole has produced 22.1 points over his last ten appearances. With that in mind, the 25-year-old is someone to consider tonight in most fantasy basketball formats.
Giannis Antetokounmpo more than 48.5 points + rebounds + assists

The 36-28 Bucks haven’t had the look of a championship-winning team. Still, Milwaukee wouldn’t even be a playoff contender without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak has enjoyed another standout season, leading the team in most statistical categories. Through 52 games, the forward has put up 30.7 points, 12.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists.
The 30-year-old superstar will have a chance at another big game vs. Los Angeles. The Lakers enter Thursday having played solid defense post-All-Star break, but that may not continue without LeBron James (groin). In each of his last six meetings with LA, Antetokounmpo has recorded at least 52 points + rebounds + assists. There’s no reason to think that the two-time MVP can’t deliver once again tonight.
Dalton Knecht more than 2.5 three-pointers made

As previously mentioned, the Lakers are currently without the services of LeBron James. Without the future Hall of Famer, head coach JJ Redick has been forced to rely on Los Angeles’ role players. That includes rookie Dalton Knecht, a sharpshooter that has shown massive potential this season with the Lakers. Through 60 games, the Tennessee alum has averaged 9.2 points on 46.5% shooting from the field (36.3 3PT%).
On Monday against the Nets, Knecht scored 19 points and knocked down three three-pointers over 41 minutes. Milwaukee’s defense is better than Brooklyn’s, but the forward’s production comes down to his workload. In nine games with over 30 minutes played this season, the 23-year-old has averaged 4.2 three-pointers made. Assuming he logs enough time on the court, Knecht is poised for another big day from beyond the arc.
Cam Thomas more than 3.5 assists

You thought there wasn’t anyone worth backing in tonight’s tank-off between the Nets and Bulls? Think again. It’s been a difficult season for Brooklyn, with little left to play for other than lottery positioning. When he does play, Cam Thomas has brought energy to an otherwise lifeless offense. Through just 24 games, the guard has posted 24.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
While Thomas is a score-first player, that doesn’t mean he’s immune from passing. If anything, his teammates aren’t good enough shooters to capitalize on potential assists. That might not be the case on Thursday against an atrocious defense. This season, Chicago has allowed 29.0 assists per game, fourth-most in the NBA. Thomas has recorded four assists in each of his previous three meetings with the Bulls. The guard will have the ball in his hands enough to take advantage of a vulnerable opponent.
Draymond Green more than 13.5 assists + rebounds

After 12 years in the NBA, Draymond Green is still a crucial piece for the Warriors. The 35-year-old hasn’t had his best season by any means, but he’s played well recently. The forward has averaged 10.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.2 assists over his last ten games. The scoring will always be inconsistent, but Golden State’s ‘glue guy’ can still stuff a stat sheet.
While the Warriors have been one of the NBA’s hottest teams, the opposite applies to the Kings. Sacramento, without big man Domantas Sabonis, has lost three of its last four games. Green should take advantage of this weakness against a squad he’s more than familiar with. The last time these two teams met on February 21st, the veteran notched eight rebounds and nine assists. Another all-around performance on Thursday should be expected.
