This Wednesday, DraftKings has seven NBA games on the main slate, including the big showdown in Boston between the Thunder and the Celtics. Of the 14 teams available on that slate for NBA DFS, the Clippers are the only team playing in a back-to-back. They played Tuesday and lost to the Pelicans and will face the Heat this Wednesday in the final game of the main slate. None of the teams on this slate have another game to worry about on Thursday, which should give us as close to “normal” rotations as we get at this point in the season. As we look at the slate in search of stacking options for NBA DFS lineups, three teams stand out.
Be sure to keep a close eye on today’s injury report and shift your strategy if necessary as we get closer to tip-off.
The NBA DFS contests for Wednesday night’s main slate lock at 7:30 p.m. ET, headlined by the NBA $300K Zone Special [$100K to 1st].
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Utah Jazz
The Grizzlies live in this NBA DFS stacks space almost every time they’re on the slate since they play at such a fantasy-friendly pace. On Wednesday, they face the Jazz, who have the fastest pace in the NBA over the last five games and have given up the second-most points per game over their last 15. In those 15 games, Utah went 3-12 and allowed 122.6 points per game.
Core Plays: The obvious but usually accurate places to start your Grizz stack are Desmond Bane ($8,300) and Ja Morant ($9,300). With Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) out, the two guards have each stepped up with huge games. Morant had 29 points and 53.5 fantasy points against the Suns on Monday and has 49+ fantasy points in thre straight games. Bane had a quiet game against Phoenix with 24.75 fantasy points but had over 45 fantasy points in four of his six previous games and should be in a great spot against the Jazz, who give up more fantasy points to shooting guards than anyone else in the NBA.
Value Options: With JJJ and Santi Aldama (calf) out, Zach Edey ($4,800; ankle) and Brandon Clarke ($4,200; knee) had been stepping up, but now both of them are dealing with injuries and are questionable as well. GG Jackson II ($4,200) and Jay Huff ($3,900) are next up behind Edey and Clarke, and Jackson had 27.5 fantasy points Monday while Huff chipped in 23.25 fantasy points. Vince Williams Jr. ($3,800) is also a good value play now that he’s ramping back up as well.
Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs
The Mavs just beat the Spurs in San Antonio on Monday, 133-129. The high-scoring contest made both teams very stackable for NBA DFS, but the Mavs are especially attractive due to their salaries and high expected usage with so few players in the rotation.
Core Plays: Lately, Naji Marshall ($7,500) has been carrying a huge workload for the Mavs and had 58.25 and 66.25 fantasy points in back-to-back games over the weekend before calming down with 33.75 fantasy points on Monday. P.J. Washington ($7,300; ankle) is questionable and could cut into Marshall’s time when he is able to get back on the floor. Klay Thompson ($6,400) has turned back the clock with over 34 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and it was Spencer Dinwiddie ($5,700), who came through Monday with 48.75 fantasy points in this matchup.
Value Options: To further cloud the injury situation for Dallas, Brandon Williams ($4,500; hamstring) and Dante Exum ($4,300; hamstring) are questionable so the second unit could look very different whether Washington returns or not. Kessler Edwards ($4,300) had a huge double-double and 43.75 fantasy points and will be a great play if he gets opportunity.
Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The Raptors are the huge value spot to stack for NBA DFS on Wednesday. They have a favorable matchup at home against the remains of the 76ers and will be without Immanuel Quickley (rest) and RJ Barrett (personal) in addition to Jonathan Mogbo (face), Ja’Kobe Walter (hip) and Gradey Dick (knee).
Core Plays: Scottie Barnes ($8,700; hand) is questionable, but if he plays, he will be extremely busy and have a very high ceiling. He has 34+ fantasy points in four straight and had over 48 fantasy points in two of those contests when he had more work. Jakob Poeltl ($6,000) will start after missing Monday’s game for rest purposes, and he had 21 points and 37.75 fantasy points in just 24 minutes in his last outing. He hasn’t been playing tons of minutes even when available, but he has had big games and comes at a good salary.
Value Options: Especially if Barnes is out in addition to IQ and Barrett, Jamal Shead ($4,400) should be in a great spot to put up a big game. AJ Lawson ($4,000) had 32 points, 12 rebounds and 53.5 fantasy points on Monday and will again be very involved with Barrett out. He just joined the team but has been very involved on the wings along with Jared Rhoden ($3,300), who has double-digit points and over 18 fantasy points in three straight games.
