We head to TPC Sawgrass (par 72, 7,352 yards, Bermuda/POA greens) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for THE PLAYERS Championship. This is a field of 144 golfers and after the first two rounds, there will be a standard top-65 and ties cut.

Daniel Berger + Adam Scott to make the cut + Tom Kim to miss the cut (+453)
Daniel Berger loves competing in his home state of Florida. Coming off a T15 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the former Florida State Seminole has advanced to the weekend in seven of his last eight starts in the Sunshine State. At TPC Sawgrass, Berger’s prowess for Florida golf has translated into plenty of success at the par 72. The 31-year-old has made six straight cuts at TPC Sawgrass and three of these finishes have been results of T13 or better. Berger has carded five top-25 finishes in his last six starts entering this week and ranks 12th in total strokes gained this season. In this type of form, Berger is one of the safest bets to make the cut in the field.
While TPC Sawgrass is a very volatile venue that most players have an inconsistent record at, Scott has been dependable at this course, making 18-of-22 cuts with 10 top-20 finishes, one of which was a win in 2004. Of the players in this week’s field, none have made more cuts or competed more times at TPC Sawgrass than Scott. The Australian is gaining 1.22 strokes per round at the Florida track, which ranks 11th among the players in this week’s field that have teed it up more than once at TPC Sawgrass. As for his current form, Scott has been an elite cut-maker over the last year, advancing to the weekend in 18 of his past 20 starts.
With TPC Sawgrass being an unpredictable course, betting on players to miss the cut here has more merit than most PGA TOUR venues and Kim is a player that has a strong chance of being sent home early this week. The 22-year-old missed the cut last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and it was an ugly showing for Kim, as he finished six strokes from making the cut and third-to-last among the field. Kim lost a whopping 7.4 strokes in his two rounds at Bay Hill, which his worst performance statistically since the 2022 PGA Championship. Kim has failed to make the cut in five of his last 12 starts, and while he made the cut in his lone start at TPC Sawgrass two years ago, he finished an underwhelming T51st. Kim is losing 0.52 strokes per round in Florida for his career and he only ranks 72nd in total strokes gained this season.
