Trae Young Injury Update: Wednesday 3/12/25 vs. Hornets

UPDATE: Young is officially available to play Wednesday vs. Charlotte.

Trae Young could miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday, with the All-Star guard dealing with a left quad contusion. He is listed as questionable for the outing against the Hornets.

It would be the first time Young misses two straight games this season, and it would be just his sixth absence overall. The Hawks are 3-2 without Young this year, including Monday’s nine-point win against the 76ers.

Atlanta has another relatively easy matchup on Wednesday against the Hornets. Charlotte is tanking for the chance at Cooper Flagg or some of the other top prospects in the 2025 NBA Draft. While that doesn’t mean it’s a guaranteed win, it certainly helps the Hawks, who are battling for a playoff spot.

The Hawks, who will host Wednesday’s contest, are 31-34 and hold the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They’re five games out of the sixth seed and have a 1.5-game lead over the eighth place Magic.

If Young is out, Keaton Wallace will likely slot into the starting lineup. He started against the 76ers on Monday, posting seven points and six assists.
