Only four games are set to tip off on Tuesday across the NBA, with eight teams in action. The biggest matchup is a playoff rematch between Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks and Pascal Siakam’s Pacers in Indianapolis. Other notable stars, including Cade Cunningham, Donovan Mitchell, and James Harden, are all in action as well. Even on a small slate, there are plenty of bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are three player props catching my eye tonight.
Alex Sarr over 1.5 three-pointers made (-115)
One of the only reasons to watch an atrocious Wizards squad is the progression of Alex Sarr. The rookie, drafted second overall during last summer’s draft, has taken his time adjusting to life in the NBA. Nowhere is that more evident than an inefficient 38.9% field goal percentage this season. Still, there’s plenty of potential for the 19-year-old on offense. Over his last six appearances, the Frenchman has averaged 14.7 points in less than 28 minutes.
Sarr has found some success from deep during that stretch, knocking down two or more three-pointers four different times. He’ll look to continue that streak on Tuesday against a subpar Detroit perimeter defense. Opponents have shot 36.8% from beyond the arc against the Pistons, the seventh-worst mark for any team this season. Washington’s talented big man has gotten better with each passing day; hitting a couple of long-distance shots feels manageable.
Cade Cunningham over 14.5 assists + rebounds (-110)
We’ll stay in Detroit, where one of the association’s most exciting players has turned heads all season. Since being taken as the draft’s first overall pick four years ago, expectations have been high for Cade Cunningham. The guard has been a solid contributor, but it’s taken until now for him to blossom into a superstar. Through 60 games, he’s averaged 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 9.3 assists while shooting 46.3% from the field.
Those numbers make Cunningham one of basketball’s preeminent stat-stuffers. That’s bad news for a defense that struggles to do just about anything right. This season, Washington has surrendered the most points (122.4), rebounds (56.7) and sixth-most assists (28.5) per game to opponents. In each of his last three meetings with the Wizards, Cade has recorded at least 15 assists + rebounds. There’s no reason to think the 23-year-old can’t put together another stellar all-around performance tonight.
Yves Missi under 7.5 rebounds (-110)
Just about everything has gone wrong for the Pelicans this season, including a slew of injuries and underperformance. One of the lone bright spots for New Orleans has been the play of rookie Yves Missi. The second-round pick, serving as the team’s starting center for most of the season, hasn’t disappointed. Through 62 games, the big man has posted 8.8 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 54.4% from the field.
As talented as Missi is, he’ll have to be at his best going into tonight’s matchup. The Clippers are an elite defensive unit, allowing the fifth-fewest points per game in the NBA (107.8). Los Angeles has been especially great on the glass, with opponents grabbing the third-fewest rebounds per game in basketball (50.0). Missi has failed to reach eight boards in five of his last six contests. Against one of the sport’s stingiest teams, that’s likely to be the case once again on Tuesday.
