The Suns are in Memphis taking on the Grizzlies for the second time in the last few weeks. The first matchup was a 151-148 track meet which Memphis won 151-148. There should be plenty of offense in the rematch between these Western Conference playoff contenders as well. The Grizzlies are currently the No. 4 seed in the West, just one game back of the Lakers and Nuggets but just one game ahead of the Rockets. The Suns are currently No. 11 just outside the Play-In Tournament. Let’s take a look at my top three Suns vs. Grizzlies prop bets from the player prop market on DraftKings Sportsbook.
In the big picture, the Grizzlies are four-point home favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook with the point total at 244, which is the highest on the slate. Both teams are playing for the second straight day after winning on Sunday. The Suns beat the Mavs while the Grizzlies dispatched the pesky Pelicans. The Grizzlies listed Santi Aldama (calf) and Luke Kennard (back) as out, while listing Brandon Clarke (knee), Vince Williams (foot) and Zach Edey (ankle) as questionable. The Suns listed Bradley Beal (calf) as out, but are otherwise fairly healthy.
Best Prop Bets for Suns vs. Grizzlies on DraftKings Sportsbook
Devin Booker over 7.5 assists (-120)
Booker has fallen just short of this mark in his first two games on this road trip, but with all the scoring in this matchup, he should be able to go over this line. In his last nine games before the two to start the trip, he went over this mark eight times, averaging 8.2 assists over that stretch.
He had nine assists at the beginning of that stretch against the Grizzlies and has eight or more assists in each of his last four games against Memphis.
Without Beal, he will get even more work as point guard and serve as the chief creator. In his 23 games without Beal this season, Booker has averaged 7.3 assists compared to his 6.9 assists per game average on the year. I’m counting on the pace of this matchup pushing him that last little bit over this line.
Desmond Bane 8+ rebounds (+135)
Without Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle), Bane has taken on more work in the Grizzlies offense and has posted huge fantasy numbers as a result. He has at least nine rebounds in four of his last five games and each of his last two. He also has nine or more boards in each of his last four games with the Grizzlies as favorites.
He didn’t get as much work on the glass against the Thunder, but dominated against the Pelicans and Mavericks. Against the Suns a few weeks ago, he had eight rebounds, even with Jackson available. Overall, he has gone over this line in eight of his last 14 contests (57.1%).
With the added bump of more shots in the paced-up spot, Bane should be able to grab his many boards, and getting it as plus-money makes his one of my top Suns vs. Grizzlies prop bets
Nick Richards over 11.5 points (-105)
Since the Grizzlies won’t have Jackson and may not have Edey or Clarke, this is a good matchup to attack with one of the Suns’ big men. While Bol Bol is fun and trendy, it’s actually Nick Richards who I think makes the most sense here.
Richards has started 23 straight games for the Suns since arriving in a trade from the Hornets. In those games, he has averaged 9.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.0 blocked shot in 23.0 minutes per game. He has been more active offensively lately with at least 14 points in four of his last five games.
He only had six points against the Grizzlies in their first meeting, but he only played 16 minutes. In the rematch with a more favorable matchup if Edey is out, I think Richards will be able to go over this scoring line, making this one of my top Suns vs. Grizzlies prop bets.
