Top NBA DFS Stacks for Sunday 3/9/25

Updated:

By: Zach Thompson

On Sunday night, six games are lined up for a solid slate of NBA DFS action on DraftKings. The contests lock at 7:00 p.m. ET when the Pelicans and Grizzlies tip off in New Orleans. The Pelicans are one of three teams finishing a back-to-back set of games along with the Bucks and Pistons. It’s also important to realize that six of the 12 teams playing Sunday night also play again on Monday, so they may adjust their rotation. With what we know coming into the afternoon, a few options stand out as strong stacks to consider for your DFS NBA lineups.

As we approach tip-off, be sure to stay up to date with the latest availability updates in today’s injury report and shift your strategy if necessary.

The three teams highlighted below are strong stacking options for Sunday’s NBA DFS fantasy basketball contests on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $200K Fadeaway [$50K to 1st].

Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Pelicans

The Grizzlies lead the NBA in pace on the season and get a great matchup on Sunday night against the Pelicans, who have allowed the fifth-most points per game in the NBA on the season and the fourth-most over the last 15 games. The Grizzlies remain without Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) and will also be without Santi Aldama (calf), which opens up lots of usage in the frontcourt.

Core Plays: The core of the Grizz stack is their two star guards-Ja Morant ($8,500) and Desmond Bane ($8,000). Bane had 68 fantasy points Friday against the Mavs and started the week with 66 fantasy points last Monday. Morant also had a big game Friday with 49 fantasy points.

Value Options: Without Jackson and Aldama, Zach Edey ($4,700) will likely get more work in the middle and should dominate the Pelicans’ frontcourt (more below). Brandon Clarke ($4,100) has played 27 and 26 minutes in the two games since Jackson’s injury, producing 32.75 and 38 fantasy points. Especially with Aldama out, Clarke is an elite value play. Vince Williams Jr. ($3,900) is also getting more minutes and has a high ceiling as he ramps back up. If Luke Kennard ($4,300; back, doubtful) is out, Jaylen Wells ($4,400) and Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,200) would get more work in the backcourt.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Memphis Grizzlies

On the other side of that early matchup, the Pelicans are a good stack to consider in what is a great pace-up spot. The Pelicans lost in Houston on Saturday but did score 117 points. They have 115+ points in three of their last four, but they will be missing key pieces on Sunday, which could limit their overall scoring but also give some fringe players a chance to step up. Zion Williamson (conditioning), CJ McCollum (rest) are out, and Jose Alvarado ($5,000; hip) is questionable.

Core Plays: Without McCollum and Williamson, Trey Murphy III ($8,100) is a great play to build around. The Grizzlies have given up the most fantasy points per game in the NBA to small forwards. In his last nine games without Zion, Murphy averaged 43.4 fantasy points. He had the third-highest usage in those games behind McCollum and Dejounte Murray (Achilles), who is out for the season. He should have a ton of work available and will have to have a big game to keep this contest close.

Value Options: The rest of the Pelicans are all value plays under $6,000. Yves Missi ($5,200) will look to build on his 29 fantasy points on Saturday with a big game against his fellow-rookie Zach Edey. Karlo Matkovic ($3,900) will also be a great play without Zion while filling in alongside Kelly Olynyk ($5,700). Without McCollum and possibly Alvarado, Jordan Hawkins ($4,200) should get huge minutes and plenty of chances to produce. Antonio Reeves ($3,000) was recalled from the G League’s Birmingham Squadron and had 11 points and 17.5 fantasy points in his last game for the Pels, but that was 10 days ago. Veteran Bruce Brown ($4,300) could also chip in more in the backcourt.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz

Another team full of value options for NBA DFS stacking is the 76ers as they take on the Jazz, who are also missing key pieces. Philly will be without Tyrese Maxey (finger), Paul George (groin) and possibly Andre Drummond ($5,300; illness, questionable). The Jazz have allowed the second-most points in the NBA over the last 15 games, and they’ll be without multiple players, including rim-protector Walker Kessler (rest). It should be a good matchup for the rest of the Sixers to produce fantasy points.

Core Plays: Quentin Grimes ($6,500) has had the chance to step up with Maxey has been out. He had two huge tames over the last week, producing 44 points and 63 fantasy points a week ago on Saturday and also putting up 43.23 fantasy points against the Timberwolves. However, he’s also had two down games with 33.5 and 24.5 fantasy points, so he definitely brings both a high ceiling and a low floor. Kelly Oubre Jr. ($6,600) has also been up and down, but he always logs heavy minutes, especially when PG13 is out. He had 48.25 fantasy points in Friday’s loss to the Celtics.

Value Options: If Drummond plays, he’ll be a solid option, but if he’s out, Guerschon Yabusele ($5,200) and Adem Bona ($3,300) will have a chance to get even more work in the middle. Lonnie Walker IV ($3,400) has been making the most of his opportunity with over 24 fantasy points in two of his last three games and Justin Edwards ($4,000) has also been productive on the wing.

He has been playing fantasy sports since box scores were only available in the newspaper the following day. Even though he grew up almost 8,000 miles away in Guam, he is a diehard Boston sports fan but will take a fantasy value play wherever he can get it, even if it’s from the Yankees.
