College Basketball Best Bets: Pick for Houston vs. Baylor on Saturday 3/8/25

For the second time this season, two of the best programs in Texas—the Houston Cougars and the Baylor Bears—will face off tonight. Houston won the season’s first matchup 76-65 on February 10. The Cougars are 26-4 on the season and have won 22 of their last 23 games. After a three-game losing streak, Byalor has won its previous two games.

Here’s a college basketball pick for Saturday’s game between Houston and Baylor.

Houston at Baylor (10:00 p.m. ET)

These two programs have only played four times in history and the series is tied 2-2. But Houston has had Baylor’s number lately, winning the previous two games. Houston’s star senior guard L.J. Cryer has scored 20 or more points in three of the last four games. If the Cougars have this elite version of Cryer they will be hard to beat. You can get the Cougars at 4.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

One of Baylor’s most consistent players this season has been forward Norchad Omier. He is averaging 15.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest. He has had a double-double in the last six games. Omier scored 19 points against Houston in their first matchup.

Houston has been dominant on the road this season, going 9-0 in Big 12 play away from home. Baylor has gone 3-3 since playing Houston in February. Until the Bears prove that they can compete with the elite teams in college basketball, it will be hard to back them. Houston has been one of the best teams in the country this season and they have shown no signs of slowing down heading into the Big 12 tournament.

College Basketball Pick: Houston -4.5
