One of the NFL’s steadiest veteran signal-callers is on the move!

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Seattle Seahawks are trading quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for in exchange for a third-round pick.

Fresh off his third season as Seattle’s starting quarterback, the 34-year-old Smith will be heading to the Raiders, a team that has been in desperate need of their next quarterback for years now. Smith won’t provide a realistic long term option to fill that role, but he should serve as a solid bridge QB for a few seasons.

Smith posted strong numbers last year under center for the Seahawks, racking up 4,320 passing yards and 21 touchdowns with a 70.4% completion rate. He did, however, struggle with turnovers, throwing 15 interceptions.

Prior to the trade, the Seahawks were already long shots to make any real noise in the 2025-26 season. Seattle was +500 to win the NFC West on DraftKings Sportsbook and a whopping +6500 to win the Super Bowl. Now, without an established quarterback, life will get even more difficult for their offense.
