Update: Tyler Herro has been ruled out of tonight’s contest with an illness.
Herro ($8,700) has been downgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s matchup vs. the Cavaliers with an illness. The guard missed shoot-around this morning, so Herro is certainly trending towards sitting.
Herro was named to his first All-Star team this season, thanks to 23.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game, all of which are career highs for the Kentucky product. Herro is leading the Heat with a 28.2% usage rate this season. Miami has also already ruled out Andrew Wiggins (ankle), Jaime Jacquez Jr. (ankle), and Kel’el Ware (knee).
Bam Adebayo ($8,900) was already in line for a huge role Wednesday. If Herro ends up sitting as well, Adebayo will likely garner his largest role of the season. Let’s not forget Jimmy Butler is also now with the Warriors and with Butler, Herro, Wiggins, Ware, and Jacquez Jr. off the floor this season, Adebayo’s usage rises 4.0 percentage points to a team-high 27.5%, and he is scoring 1.3 FPTS per minute.
Going against a Cavaliers team that is playing their second game in two nights and that has been resting starters on each end of back-to-back sets recently, Adebayo will be an appealing high-end DFS option if Herro is inactive. Terry Rozier ($4,800), Duncan Robinson ($4,700) and Alec Burks ($4,300) will also see their roles grow if Herro is out.
The Heat are 0-2 with Herro inactive this season and Miami is an 11.5-point underdog vs. the Cavaliers on DraftKings Sportsbook.
