For the third straight night, the NBA brings seven games to the DraftKings main slate, which tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET. Most of the action starts early, with four games tipping off right at 7:00 p.m. ET. The last game on the main slate tips at 9:30 p.m. ET and is a juicy matchup between the Grizzlies and Thunder in Oklahoma City. The Clippers-Pistons matchup is not on the main slate but is available as a showdown contest. As we focus on the seven games on the board this Wednesday, three options stand out as the top stacks for NBA DFS lineups, and you can find those three teams spotlighted below.
Of the 14 teams in the main pool, the Cavaliers, Bucks and Timberwolves are finishing their back-to-back set of games while only the Celtics have to turn around and play again on Thursday. As tip-time approaches, be sure to keep a close eye on today’s injury report and shift your strategy if necessary.
The three teams in this post come into the day as strong stacking options to consider for your NBA DFS fantasy basketball contests on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $300K Fadeaway [$100K to 1st].
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
The Grizzlies lead the NBA in pace on the season and over the last 10 games. They are averaging 120.8 points and 124.9 points allowed over their last 10 games. The Thunder have averaged 128.8 points per game over their last 10 games, so you can see why this point total is the highest of the season on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Core Plays: The Grizzlies have some key question marks in their rotation, leaving more work for whoever is available. Ja Morant ($8,300; shoulder) is questionable, while Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) is expected to be headed for an extended absence after suffering a Grade 2 left ankle sprain Tuesday. Without JJJ and possibly Ja, Desmond Bane ($8,000) could be poised for a huge workload. He had a triple-double with 66 fantasy points on Tuesday and has over 45 fantasy points in three straight.
Value Options: Santi Aldama ($6,400; calf) will be a very strong option if he’s able to play through his questionable tag, but if he’s not, Brandon Clarke ($4,100) and G.G. Jackson II ($4,000) could be bargain heroes. Zach Edey ($4,900) should also get more work without JJJ while Luke Kennard ($4,800), Jaylen Wells ($4,,900) and Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,500; toe, questionable) will fill in if Ja is out. Vince Williams Jr. ($4,200) couls also help fill the gap, but he is still just ramping up to full speed after his own injury issues.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Memphis Grizzlies
The only reason the Thunder aren’t a better stack than the Grizzlies is that they don’t have as much value, but both teams should be ready to pile up plenty of points. The Thunder have scored 135+ points in three straight games and 128+ points in seven straight. Match them against the up-tempo Grizzlies, and that’s definitely a stack you want a piece of.
Core Plays: Obviously, the place to start is with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,800) but Jalen Williams ($8,200) has also been lighting it up with 20+ points in five straight games and a new career-high of 41 points on his way to 63.5 fantasy points on Sunday in San Antonio. Chet Holmgren ($7,300) is back (again) and productive, so he’s a solid frontcourt play especially with the Grizzlies missing Jackson.
Value Options: Aaron Wiggins ($5,100) has emerged as a solid midrange option, and Cason Wallace ($4,400) has been contributing even more lately. Wallace has over 20 fantasy points in five straight and over 32 fantasy points in each of his last two games. With Alex Caruso (ankle) out and Isaiah Joe ($4,000; back) questionable, Wallace is a great value to include if you pay up for other Thunder pieces.
Utah Jazz at Washington Wizards
If you want to stack the Grizzlies or Thunder, one way to afford the bigger pieces is by supplementing the stack with some of the bargain options from the Jazz-Wizards matchup. Both sides have great value plays with key players out, but the Jazz are slightly more stackable, even though the Wizards haven’t been as fast or as beatable as they were earlier this season. Utah already ruled out Walker Kessler (rest), Lauri Markkanen (back), John Collins (back), Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Collin Sexton (ankle), which opens the door for some of their younger players to step up.
Core Plays: In the backcourt, Keyonte George ($6,400) and Isaiah Collier ($6,300) have a great matchup against the Wizards, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to point guards this season. George had 28 points and 41.75 fantasy points against the Pelicans and 30 points and 51 fantasy points against the Trail Blazers in two similar situations since the All-Star break. Collier hasn’t shown quite as high a ceiling lately but usually returns good value.
Value Options: Without Kessler, Kyle Filipowski ($5,500) is almost a must-start. He has over 35 fantasy points in back-to-back games and had 37.25 fantasy points, 49.75 fantasy points, and 34.5 fantasy points in the last three games that Kessler has missed. Brice Sensabaugh ($4,300) scored 21 points in 31 minutes on Sunday but was shut out in 16 miutes on Monday. He’s the definition of “boom-or-bust” while KJ Martin ($4,100) also brings good upside with Markkanen and Collins out.
