Tyrese Maxey Injury Update: 3/3/2025 vs. the Trail Blazers

UPDATE: Nick Nurse said that the injury isn’t too serious and is considered day-to-day.

Halfway through the third quarter of Monday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, Tyrese Maxey ($9,000) drove down the baseline. As he was about to go up for a layup, a defender met him and Maxey tried to go around the defender and under the basket for the scoop and score. Unfortunately, he landed hard on his back and was writhing in pain for a minute.

He was able to get up, but gingerly walked back to the locker room. Maxey has been dealing with a finger injury, so it’s been a rough stretch for him lately.

After spending some time in the locker room, Maxey has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

Prior to exiting, Maxey contributed five points, six assists and a steal while shooting 2-of-13 from the field.

Maxey has missed eight games this season, but six of those were way back in November. If Maxey misses time, then Jared Butler would likely enter the starting lineup. Maxey was out six games ago and Butler got the start and played 25 minutes, contributing eight points, two rebounds, nine assists and two blocks.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
