On Sunday night, the NBA DFS slate is made up of six games starting at 6:00 p.m. ET or later. The Spurs are the only one of the 12 teams on the board who are finishing a back-to-back set as they host the Thunder after knocking off the Grizzlies in Memphis on Saturday night. Considering the 12 teams available and the matchup and workloads, check out my top three options for stacking in Sunday’s DFS NBA contests.
As we get closer to tip time, be sure to stay up to date on the latest availability statuses in today’s injury report and shift your strategy if necessary.
The three teams in this post are strong stacking options for NBA DFS fantasy basketball. Get your lineups stacked up and ready to roll for Sunday’s fantasy basketball contests on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $200K Fadeaway [$50K to 1st].
Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs
The Thunder have scored the second-most points in the NBA in both the last 10 games and the last 15 games, even though they are barely in the top 10 in pace over that span. The offense has been extremely efficient, and they get a favorable matchup against the Spurs without Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) and on the second night of a back-to-back. Over their last five games, the Spurs have allowed 118.8 points per game, the ninth-most in the NBA.
Core Plays: The Thunder won’t have Chet Holmgren (ankle) or Isaiah Joe (back), so Jalen Williams ($7,600) will be the secondary scorer behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($10,500). Williams has 20+ points and over 35 fantasy points in three straight games while SGA has scored at least 27 points and earned 45+ fantasy points in four straight, including two massive games against the Timberwolves with 70 and 64.5 fantasy points. Aaron Wiggins ($5,000) has scored 12+ points in all five of his games since the break with an average of 28.0 fantasy points per game.
Value Options: Without Chet, Jaylin Williams ($4,400) will re-enter the rotation as the primary backup to Isaiah Hartenstein ($6,400). Luguentz Dort ($4,700) had 20 points and 33.5 fantasy points against the Hawks on Friday and could get more offensive opportunities without Joe. Alex Caruso ($4,300) will return after resting a game, and Cason Wallace ($4,100) should also stay very involved and has 21+ fantasy points in four of his last five games.
Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans
The Jazz host the Pelicans in what should be a game that has plenty of points. The Jazz already ruled out Lauri Markkanen (back), Walker Kessler (rest), John Collins (back), Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Collin Sexton (ankle), so there will be plenty of usage for the rest of the rotation. The rest of the Jazz should be productive since the Pelicans have given up 121.5 points per game over the last 15 games, the second-highest total in the NBA over that span.
Core Plays: Keyonte George ($6,600) and Isaiah Collier ($6,000) have both been excellent when asked to step into larger roles. George had 35+ fantasy points in three straight games coming out of the break before cooling off in his last two games. Collier has three games with 30+ fantasy points in his five since the All-Star break and six of his last eight overall.
Value Options: Kyle Filipowski ($5,200) should step into a big role on Sunday without Kessler. He had a 20-point double-double in his most recent start against the Trail Blazers, finishing with 49.75 fantasy points. He’ll have a great matchup against the Pelicans, who allow more fantasy points to centers than any other team in the NBA. Brice Sensabaugh ($4,300) and KJ Martin ($4,000) are affordable ways to round out the stack with extra time on the wing as well.
Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks
The Knicks have been a good matchup to attack lately, allowing the sixth-most points per game over their last six contests. With Jimmy Butler now in Golden State, the Heat have re-adjusted their workload, giving other players a chance to step up. Andrew Wiggins ($6,500; ankle) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. ($4,300; ankle) are doubtful and Nikola Jovic (hand) is out, so there will be opportunities for other players to step up deeper in the rotation.
Core Plays: Tyler Herro ($8,400) and Bam Adebayo ($7,800) are definitely the focal points of Miami’s offense. Herro had 28 points and 46.25 fantasy points on Thursday, and he has over 44 fantasy points in four of his five games since the All-Star break and five of six overall. Adebayo has at least 37 fantasy points in four of those five games as well.
Value Options: Without Wiggins, Jovic and Jaquez, Duncan Robinson ($4,800), Haywood Highsmith ($3,400) and Alec Burks ($3,200) will pick up more work. Highsmith has played 27 and 29 minutes in his last two games, finishing with 36.75 and 20.75 fantasy points in those two games. He’s one of the best punt plays on the board, whether you use him as part of a Heat stack or as an independent play.
