Paul George Injury Update: March 3 vs. the Trail Blazers

UPDATE: George has been ruled out.

Paul George has been listed as questionable for Monday’s game vs. the Trail Blazers with a groin injury, while Kyle Lowry (injury management) is out.

In his first season with the 76ers, George is averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 32.6 minutes per game. The 76ers just recently shut Joel Embiid (knee) down for the season and if George sits Monday, Tyrese Maxey should become Philadelphia’s featured player.

With both George and Embiid off the floor this season, Maxey’s usage increases 2.9 percentage points to 33.4%. In the 16 starts the guard has made without George and Embiid this season, Maxey is leading the 76ers with 30.6 PPG and 46.9 FPTS per game. Kelly Oubre Jr. will also garner a larger role if George is sidelined Monday.

Philadelphia is 6-13 with George out this season, but it may be a slight favorite over Portland once the lines are released on DraftKings Sportsbook for Monday, given the Trail Blazers will be playing their second game in two nights.
