Ayo Dosunmu has missed three of the Bulls’ last four games with a shoulder injury and the guard will miss the remainder of the season. Dosunmu has been dealing with left shoulder instability and after further evaluation, he will undergo season-ending surgery.
This season, Dosunmu is averaging 12.3 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game, all of which are career highs for the guard. With Dosunmu done for the season, the Bulls should use a tighter back-court rotation with Josh Giddey, Coby White and Lonzo Ball all seeing larger roles. Newly acquired Kevin Huerter should also see an expanded role off the bench.
In addition to Dosunmu, the Bulls are currently without starting center Nikola Vucevic due to a calf injury. Chicago is sitting at the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference and it is likely it prefers to move down the standings to improve its lottery chances. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Vucevic also ruled out for the rest of the season rather soon.
The Bulls are 7-7 with Dosunmu inactive this season and facing the Pacers on Sunday, Chicago is a 10.5-point underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.
