#2 Duke will continue its quest for an ACC regular season title on Saturday vs. Florida State. The Blue Devils are led by none other than Cooper Flagg, the consensus number one pick in June’s NBA Draft. At just 19 years old, the dynamic forward has already emerged as college basketball’s biggest star. He’ll look to put together another terrific performance in primetime against the visiting Seminoles.
Duke enters this contest as 22.5-point favorites, with the over/under set at 149.5 points. Ahead of Saturday’s action, starting at 7:00 PM, here’s the Flagg player prop to target on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Cooper Flagg player prop for March 1
Flagg’s well-rounded skillset gives him a path to production that doesn’t always include scoring. Still, the freshman isn’t afraid to take control of Duke’s offense. This season, the forward has averaged 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 49.1% from the field. On the other end of the floor, he’s chipped in with 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks.
With so many ways to impact a game, the Maine native’s nightly potential is unlimited. Those counting stats, while impressive, can be difficult to navigate for bettors. That’s especially true when accounting for Duke’s dominance. A blowout victory is often enough keep Flagg on the bench for part of the second half.
Florida State (16-12, 7-10) will likely make slowing down Flagg a priority. This season, the Seminoles have allowed the seventh-most points (72.3) and the ninth-most assists (12.3) per game in the ACC. The latter of those two numbers has risen to 15.0 over the team’s last three outings.
In regards to Flagg, most of the hype around his game is due to elite athleticism and defensive prowess. However, fans shouldn’t sell the youngster’s passing short. Duke’s leading man has dished out five or more dimes in three of his last four appearances. In each of those instances, the Blue Devils won by a margin of at least 27 points. Even if this one gets out of hand, Flagg will get enough touches to make his mark as a passer.
