One of the world’s best boxers and knockout artists, Gevonta “Tank” Davis, returns on Saturday, March 1, to face Lamont Roach. Davis is 30-0 with 28 knockouts in his professional boxing career. He has finished 20 of his previous 21 opponents and is coming off a knockout victory against Frank Martin in June 2024.
Roach enters this contest 25-1-1 with 10 knockouts. He is on a six-fight win streak since he suffered his first career loss in 2019 against Jamel Herring. Most recently, Roach knocked out Feargal McCrory in June 2024. Davis stands at 5’5.5″ and is the smaller fighter in most of his fights. That stays true in this bout as Roach is taller by one and a half inches while having a slightly larger standing reach (68″ vs. 67.5″).
As he is most times, Tank is a massive favorite at -1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Roach is a +900 underdog in this fight. Davis is one of the best power punches in the sport, as he lands 48.2 percent of his power punches, according to CompuBox’s statistics.
The co-main event is a 12-round Super Lightweight bout between Jose Valenzuela and Gary Antuanne Russell. On BoxRec, Russell is ranked No. 19 in the division. He is coming off a loss to Alberto Puello in June 2024 but won his previous 17 fights. Valenzuela, 25, is 14-2 with nine knockouts in his career and most recently beat Issac Cruz in August 2024. Russell is a slight favorite at -115, while Valenzuela is -105.
The WBC Super Lightweight champion Alberto Puello is defending his title against Sandor Martin. Martin is 42-3 in his career and has knocked out his last two opponents. Puello enters this contest with an undefeated record of 23-0 with 10 knockouts. In his previous fight, Puello beat Russell, who is also on this card. Puello has the advantages on paper, as he is taller (5’9.5″ vs. 5’7″) and has a more significant standing reach (71″ vs. 68″). On DraftKings Sportsbook, Puello is a -130 favorite, and Martin is a +105 underdog.
You can watch the Prelims on DraftKings Network beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET. The main card begins on PBC PPV on Prime Video at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.
