The PGA TOUR begins the Florida swing this week with the Cognizant Classic at PGA National (par 71, 7,167, Bermuda greens) in Palm Beach Gardens, which has been the host of this event since 2007. There are 144 players competing this week and there will be a top-65 and ties cut following the first two rounds.
Below, I have featured some finishing position bets to consider for the Cognizant Classic.
Keith Mitchell for a Top-30 Finish (+115)
Mitchell has been in great form to start 2025. In his first four starts of the season, the 33-year-old has finished T30th, T21st, T33rd and T25th, in that order. Mitchell has only shot over par once in these 16 rounds and he ranks 16th in SGT2G for the season. Mitchell now travels to PGA National, which is the site of his lone PGA TOUR win in 2019. Since then, Mitchell has carded back-to-back T9s at the challenging venue, one of which just came last season. Impressively, the Georgia graduate closed this finish with a 6-under 65 on Sunday and he has only shot over par once in his last eight rounds at PGA National.
Mitchell could be in store for his best finish of the season this week considering his prowess for PGA National and he is an awesome bet for a top-30 at this +115 price on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Sam Ryder for a Top-40 Finish (+130)
PGA National is one of Ryder’s favorite courses on the PGA TOUR. The veteran has never missed a cut in four appearances at PGA National and he has contended in his last three visits to the venue, finishing T8th, T9th and T21st, in that order. Ryder owns a career average finish of T21st at PGA National, which is the fourth-best among the players in this week’s field that have competed at the Florida track more than once. Plus, the second-best round of Ryder’s career came at PGA National, when he posted an 8-under 63 at the course in 2021, which was two strokes shy of tying the lowest score ever posted in the history of this event.
Returning to PGA National in compelling form this week, Ryder should have no issues carding a top-40 finish and he is a must-bet at this +140 price on DraftKings Sportsbook. This season, the 34-year-old owns a spotless five-of-five record in terms of made cuts, including three finishes inside the top-40, and Ryder ranks 25th in SGP.
