Best Shane Lowry Prop for the Cognizant Classic

The next stop on the PGA Tour is the Cognizant Classic which tees off on Thursday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. These are the best Shane Lowry props to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for the Cognizant Classic.

Cognizant Classic

The Cognizant Classic will be played at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. PGA National is a Jack Nicklaus-designed par 71 golf course and ranges 7,054 yards. The Cognizant Classic field is solid, but not as good as it has been in past years, despite being at such an elite course. The course features Bermudagrass greens and is famous for holes 15-17, dubbed the “Bear Trap,” which is one of the hardest three-hole runs on the PGA TOUR schedule. Going low will be a challenge at this tournament between the tough course conditions and the brutal wind that is almost always a factor on this course.

Here is the top Shane Lowry prop to bet on DraftKings Sportsbook for the Cognizant Classic:

Shane Lowry Top 10 (+200)

Shane Lowry (+2000) is the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Cognizant Classic. The field for this weekend’s tournament is missing most of the world’s top players, so along with Lowry, the likes of Sepp Straka, Sungjae Im, and Russell Henley are the top players in the field. Lowry is a long-time veteran of the PGA Tour and has accomplished so much throughout his career that he has a big leg up in a field like this. The Cognizant Classic field is mostly younger players who need the money or are looking for a chance to prove themselves.

Despite his success around the world, competing in majors and in Ryder Cups, Lowry does only have three PGA Tour wins. In fact, Lowry had not won since his Open Championship title until last season when he won in New Orleans at the Zurich Classic and that was in a team event with Rory McIlroy. That is why, rather than betting on Lowry to win, I am backing Lowry to finish inside the top ten. Lowry is arguably the best player in the field and has been so consistent throughout his career. To be able to get him to finish inside the top ten at 2/1 odds is too hard to pass up.

Lowry has had an up-and-down start to the 2025 season, only playing in three tournaments so far. However, Lowry had a runner-up finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, proving his game is in a good place. Lowry had a really solid 2024 season and should carry that momentum into this year. In 20 starts on the PGA Tour last season, Lowry had seven top-ten finishes. Finishing top ten in 35% of your starts is a really consistent rate of performance. That also includes all fields, including majors and signature events. Against a weaker field like this one, Lowry really should be finishing towards the top of the leaderboard.

Lowry has been one of the best approach and short game players on Tour through the early part of this season. Lowry is first on Tour in proximity, meaning the average distance to the hole after landing on the green. Consequently, that has also led to Lowry being second on Tour in one-putt percentage, only needing one putt 46.67% of the time. That is consistent with Lowry’s numbers from last year, as he ranked 12th on Tour in shots-gained approach to green last season. That type of ball striking is essential to success at PGA National, as it should keep Lowry out of the hazards that are in play all over the course.

Shane Lowry also has a fantastic course history here. In his last three performances in this tournament, Lowry finished T4 in 2025, T5 in 2023, and 2nd in 2022. So, not only has Lowry made three straight top tens here, but three straight top fives. Lowry is a Florida resident and has thrived playing in Florida over recent years. Over his last 36 rounds, Lowry leads this field in strokes gained in Florida. He has always thrived in windy, difficult weather conditions, which could be in the cards this weekend. Between his strong history at this tournament and his consistent play over the last few months, Lowry is a strong bet to finish in the top ten at the Cognizant Classic.
