NBA Best Bets Today: Top Betting Picks for February 24

By: Grant Afseth

With eight games scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24, the NBA slate offers solid betting opportunities on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are my top betting picks for today.

Here’s the full NBA schedule for today’s game (all times Eastern):

  • Clippers at Pistons, 7 p.m.
  • Nuggets at Pacers, 7 p.m.
  • Bulls at 76ers, 7 p.m.
  • Nets at Wizards, 7 p.m.
  • Heat at Hawks, 7:30 p.m.
  • Timberwolves at Thunder, 8 p.m.
  • Trail Blazers at Jazz, 8 p.m.
  • Hornets at Kings, 9 p.m.

Pistons +3 (-115)

The Pistons have been on a roll, winning six straight games, including a wild 148-143 victory over the Hawks. They will face the Clippers, who have struggled in their first two games back from the All-Star break. The latest injury report has yet to be released, but Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell were sidelined in the last game. Regardless, the Clippers will lean heavily on James Harden to generate offense. The Pistons, led by Cade Cunningham and supported by Malik Beasley and Dennis Schroder, have played confidently. With their defense stepping up and an offense firing on all cylinders, the Pistons are in a strong position to cover the spread.

Hawks +1 (-108)

The Heat have struggled with offensive consistency, and they will face a Hawks team eager to bounce back after a 148-143 loss to the Pistons. Miami is coming off a 120-113 loss to Milwaukee, highlighting their struggles, particularly in the fourth quarter. Tyler Herro has led the Heat, but they’ve had issues staying competitive without consistent shooting and with some injuries. The Hawks, led by Trae Young, will look to take advantage of Miami’s defensive lapses. Expect a hard-fought game, but Atlanta’s cohesion and home-court advantage give them the edge to cover the spread.

Nuggets -5 (-110)

The Nuggets are looking to rebound from a tough 123-100 loss to the Lakers. They will take on the Pacers, who have been playing well but are missing their point guard, T.J. McConnell, due to an ankle injury. In recent meetings, the Nuggets have dominated the Pacers and will rely on Nikola Jokic to lead the charge. Jokic, despite a rough game against the Lakers, remains one of the NBA’s best all-around players and will be looking to bounce back in this matchup. With strong support from Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, Denver should be able to cover the spread against the Pacers, who are currently in a tough stretch of games.

Thunder -12 (-112)

The Thunder have been on fire, winning eight of their last nine games. They will face a Timberwolves team struggling with injuries and inconsistent play. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to lead the Thunder, while Jalen Williams has stepped up significantly. Minnesota has had trouble closing out games and dealing with clutch situations, which could be a problem against the Thunder’s high-scoring offense. Oklahoma City’s depth and momentum make them a firm favorite to cover the spread in this matchup.

Jazz +5.5 (-110)

The Jazz are coming off a rare win against the Rockets and will face the Trail Blazers, who are coming off a historic 53-point win over the Hornets. Despite their struggles this season, the Jazz have shown flashes of brilliance, particularly from their younger players like Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, and Walker Kessler. Portland has been inconsistent despite their big win, and Utah will look to take advantage of the Blazers’ defensive lapses. Expect the Jazz to keep it close and possibly pull off a win, making them a solid pick to cover the spread at home.
