Darius Garland Injury Update: February 25 at the Magic

TUESDAY UPDATE: Darius Garland has now been ruled out ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Orlando Magic. His next opportunity to play will come on the road Friday against the Celtics.

The Cleveland Cavaliers possess the NBA’s best record at 47-10, and with a matchup against a talented Orlando Magic squad on deck, they’re positioned to further solidify their contender status in the Eastern Conference.

However, the Cavaliers may be shorthanded for the road tilt, as point guard Darius Garland is listed questionable for Tuesday’s contest due to a hip injury.

The 25-year-old guard recently earned the second All-Star nod of his six-year career. With averages of 21.3 points and 6.3 assists, as well as a 42.5% three-point percentage, the young floor general has played a key role in Cleveland’s rise to the top of the league.

If Garland cannot play on Tuesday, backcourt mate Donovan Mitchell would likely assume additional responsibility in the offense. Ty Jerome would also be in line for additional minutes and become a value in DFS contests.

Tuesday evening’s contest against the Magic tips off at 7:30 p.m. EST.
