The NBA All-Star break is in the books, and the Los Angeles Lakers begin the second half of the season against the Charlotte Hornets tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET. The Lakers are fifth in the Western Conference, winning six of their previous seven games.
The Lakers made the biggest splash at the NBA trade deadline this season by trading for Luka Doncic, a five-time All-Star and generational player. Doncic is only averaging 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, and four assists in his first two games in Los Angeles. But he only played 23 and 24 minutes while recovering from an injury. Here is my favorite prop bet for Doncic for tonight’s game against the Hornets.
Luka Doncic over 26.5 points (-125)
In his career, Doncic has had much success against the Hornets. He is averaging 29.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 7.7 assists in 10 contests against them. You can get Doncic to record over 26.5 points at -125 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Doncic has totaled at least 34 points in five of his last six games against Charlotte. Although he has scored 16 or fewer points in his previous three games, it wasn’t an entirely healthy version of Doncic. In five of the last eight games that Doncic has played 30 or more minutes, he has hit this scoring mark.
His production will continue to increase as he plays more games with his new teammates. When healthy, Doncic is one of the most talented scorers in the NBA. The last time Doncic scored 26 or fewer points in four straight games was in January 2022.
