LaMelo Ball has only appeared in two of the Hornets’ last nine games, but he has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday’s game in Los Angeles.
Ball is the best player on the team, and having him healthy is vital for Charlotte’s success. On the season, he is averaging 27.3 points, 7.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game. His 27.3 points per game is a career-high, while his rebound and assist numbers have dropped from previous seasons. Ball is clearly taking more initiative as a scorer, and the numbers reflect that.
Ball’s availability is a huge key to the Hornets possibly getting a win. In games without him this season, Charlotte is 1-18. When Ball suits up, that record improves to 12-21. Despite losing nine of their last ten games, can the Hornets put up a fight in L.A.?
This game may have some extra eyes on it, as it’s the only game being played on Wednesday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lakers are currently 12.5-point favorites with the total set at 224.
