Mac McClung does it again, winning his third consecutive Slam Dunk Contest. He becomes the only player in NBA history to accomplish this. Only Nate Robinson has won three contests, but he didn’t do so in three straight seasons.

McClung had a perfect night, scoring 50 on all four of his dunks. His dunks will live forever on highlight reels. Here are some of the best dunks from the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest ranked in order.

1. Mac McClung: Reverse slam over car

Choosing a favorite of McClung’s dunks is difficult, but his first slam gets the edge. He rolled out a car, bringing flashbacks to Blake Griffin’s dunk 14 years ago.

The main difference in the modern remake is that McClung jumped over the highest part of the car, while Griffin jumped over the hood.

McClung grabbed the ball from someone through the sun roof, and he still had enough juice to slam a powerful dunk through. While he did hit the car on his way down, that wasn’t enough to take this dunk off the top spot.

2. Mac McClung: Two balls, windmill

McClung pulled out all the props for this one. He had one person standing on a ladder, holding a ball above the rim, and another guy holding a ball while spinning on a hoverboard. It was reminiscent of Aaron Gordon’s slam in 2016.

It was McClung’s third dunk and his third 50 of the night. He jumped over the person on the hoverboard, windmilled one ball and slammed the other with his left hand. It would have been No. 1 had he not jumped over a car earlier.

3. Mac McClung: Jumps over Evan Mobley

Needing a 49.6 to tie Castle, McClung brought out Evan Mobley. The Cavaliers big is 6’11, but that wasn’t enough. McClung added a small platform beneath Mobley to increase the height he needed to clear.

Yet, McClung made it look easy, clearing Mobley to earn his fourth straight 50. He even tapped the ball against the front of the rim before throwing down a strong two-hander.

It would’ve been cool to see McClung jump over Victor Wembanyama, who is 7-3, especially since he added a couple inches with the platform. Nonetheless, this mixture of power, finesse and leaping ability was incredible.

4. Stephon Castle: Between-the-legs, under-the-basket jam

Stephon Castle is the first and only player not named McClung to get on this list. His first dunk of the final round was impressive, albeit it took some time to accomplish.

Castle grabbed the ball out of the basket and did a between-the-legs dunk from under the rim. He gets bonus points for it being such an emphatic slam.

5. Mac McClung: Baseline 180

McClung makes this dunk look so easy. He jumps over someone holding a ball, turns 180 degrees mid-air and slams a powerful two-handed dunk.

Just because he made it look easy, doesn’t mean it is. All four of McClung’s dunks rightfully make the top five.

Honorable mention: Stephon Castle: 360, behind-the-back, left-handed

Castle’s second dunk in the final round was impressive. He did a 360, behind-the-back dunk with his left hand.

The reason it falls just outside the top five is because it wasn’t powerful enough. All of the top five dunks added a mixture sort of power, leaping ability and acrobatics. This one is just missing that loud jam to finish it off.

Matas Buzelis and Andre Jackson Jr. don’t make the cut for this list. If Buzelis made his first dunk, he likely would have earned a spot on the list.
