Anthony Edwards Injury Update: February 13 vs. the Thunder

Updated:

UPDATE: Edwards is available.

Anthony Edwards ($9,600; hip) has been listed as questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Thunder, along with Rudy Gobert ($6,600; back) and Mike Conley ($4,800; finger). Julius Randle (groin) also will miss his his eighth game in a row.

Edwards has recently suited up multiple times after being listed as questionable with this hip injury, but with this being the Timberwolves’ second game in two nights and their last game before the All-Star break, there is certainly a real chance that he sits. Edwards is leading the Timberwolves with 27.5 PPG and a 31.8% usage rate this season and his potential absence, in addition to Randle already being out, would create massive void for Minnesota.

With both Edwards and Randle off the court this season, Naz Reid ($7,100) has led the Timberwolves with a 27.2% usage rate, which is a 5.7-point increase from his average. Reid would likely be the focal point of the Timberwolves offense if Edwards sits and he would see a further boost if Gobert is also out, as Reid would slide over to center and see more rebounding opportunities. Additionally, Jaden McDaniels ($6,500) would see all the minutes he could handle if Gobert sat and Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($5,000) would be the top candidate to start if Edwards was sidelined.

While all of the key Timberwolves players will see significant boosts to their workloads if Edwards or Gorbert sits, they are tough sells no matter the scenario, given they are facing the Thunder, who lead the NBA in defensive efficiency.

Minnesota is 1-1 with Edwards inactive this season and they are an 8.5-point underdog vs. the Thunder on DraftKings Sportsbook.
