Golf Best Bets: Top Finishing Position Props for the Genesis Invitational

With the Los Angeles area severely affected by recent wildfires, the PGA TOUR will be hosting the Genesis Invitational at the South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards, POA greens) of Torrey Pines this week, instead of its usual home in Riviera CC. As a Signature Event, the Genesis Invitational features a $20 million purse and a limited field of 72 golfers. After the first two rounds, there will be a top-50 and ties cut.

Below, I have featured some finishing position bets to consider for the Genesis Invitational.

Sepp Straka for a Top 20 finish including ties (+125)

Straka has finished inside the top 20 in two of his five starts at Torrey Pines and he is been in the midst of an outstanding season on the PGA TOUR. So far in 2025, Straka has finished T15, T30, first, T7 and T15, in that order. Straka won the American Express by two shots last month and he has shot under par in 18 of his 20 rounds this season, including a pair of 64s. Currently, Straka sits at a career-best No. 17 in the World Golf Rankings.

Ranking fifth on the PGA TOUR in SG APP, Straka has been immaculate with his irons and he should thrive at the South Course, which is a second-shot venue built for elite ball strikers. Each of the past four winners at Torrey Pines have finished the event top-seven in SG APP.

Adam Scott for a Top 30 finish (+100)

After closing out last season with four top 10 finishes in his final five starts, Scott has looked strong in 2025, finishing T15 at the Sentry and T22 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. During that latter tournament, the Australian finished with an eight-under 64 in the final round, which tied for the lowest score of the event. It’s an impressive feat, considering this was a Signature Event that featured all of the PGA TOUR’s best players.

Now, Scott makes his way to Torrey Pines, where he has finished inside the top 30 in three of his four starts at the California venue. In fact, Scott finished runner-up at the 2019 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and he finished T10 at the same event in 2021. Overall, Scott is gaining an elite 2.4 strokes per round at the South Course for his career, which ranks second among this week’s field, only trailing Rory McIlroy.

At this +100 price on DraftKings Sportsbook, Scott is a sensational bet for a top 30 finish.
