Best Viktor Hovland Prop Bets for the Genesis Invitational

The PGA TOUR is making its last stop on the West Coast tour with a return to Torrey Pines. This is my favorite Viktor Hovland prop bet to consider for the Genesis Invitational.

Viktor Hovland Best Bet

Viktor Hovland is +5000 to win the Genesis Invitational. He is +750 to finish in the top five, +350 to finish in the top 10 and +140 to finish in the top 20.

The Genesis Invitational is typically played at the Riviera Country Club. However, due to the terrible wildfires in California, the tournament had to be moved from Riviera to Torrey Pines Golf Course. Torrey Pines hosted the Farmers Insurance Open just a couple of weeks ago, so a lot of these golfers have very recent experience at this course. During the Farmers Insurance Open, the tournament was held at both the North Course and the South Course at Torrey Pines. However, this tournament will be hosted solely on the South Course. The South Course is a par 72 golf course and ranges 7,802 yards. The Genesis is the third elevated event of the season so far. There is a field of 72 golfers, with a cut to the top 50, including ties and anyone within 10 shots of the lead after Friday’s round. The South Course is one of the longest courses that is played on the PGA TOUR and there is poa annua grass on the greens.

Viktor Hovland is a unique case, as he is one of the only players in the field who did not play in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines just a few weeks ago. Hovland has played a limited schedule so far this year as he continues to fix his game, but he did have a solid showing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am two weeks ago, finishing T-22. Hovland has been through a lot over the past year, changing coaches, changing his swing and much more. That has led to really inconsistent results from the Norwegian who once was viewed as one of the future faces of the sport. That is still possible as Hovland is very young and immensely talented, but he needs to find some consistency in his game. This could be a good course fit for Hovland to get back on track.

Hovland finished T-19 at the Genesis last season, albeit the tournament was held at a different course. In fact, Hovland has finished in the top 20 in all four career starts at the Genesis, including two top-five finishes. The course might be different but with golfers, even the name of a tournament where they have found success before can be the needed confidence booster. Hovland has minimal experience at Torrey Pines but he did play great the last time he was there, finishing second at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open. Despite an up-and-down 2024 season, Hovland had a lot of success driving the ball, ranking 14th in shots gained off the tee. He also finished the season sixth on Tour in putting average. If he can hit the ball well off the tee and limit his total putts, he should have a lot of success at the incredibly long Torrey Pines South Course. If Hovland can find some consistency, he should finish inside the top 20, which can be found at +140 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Bet: Viktor Hovland to finish Top 20 (+140)
