On Friday, the PGA TOUR announced that Tiger Woods was going to tee it up and play this week at the event he hosts, The Genesis Invitational. However, on Monday, Tiger issued a statement saying he will not be able to play this week at Torrey Pines.
I planned to tee it up this week, but I’m just not ready. I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my Mom would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss.

Woods played last year at this event in addition to the four majors, but at this point, it doesn’t look like we’ll see him in action until possibly for The Masters at Augusta National.
Since he was in the field, Woods has a $6,300 salary in DFS contests on DraftKings like the PGA TOUR $1M Sand Trap Special [$200K to 1st]. Woods’ impressive course history would have made him an interesting punt play, but there are still plenty of solid value plays available. We’ll have more coverage throughout the week leading up to the event’s start on Thursday, but initially, Michael Kim ($6,300), Justin Rose ($6,400), and Matthieu Pavon ($6,100) stand out at similar price points and have good course history at Torrey Pines, although not nearly at the extent or the name recognition that Tiger brings.
