UPDATE: Gafford has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 MCL sprain and will miss at least six weeks, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

UPDATE: Gafford has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Early in the second quarter of Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, Daniel Gafford went to set a pick for Kyrie Irving well above the three-point line but suffered a knee injury after Malik Monk bumped into him. He had to be helped to the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Gafford contributed 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 10 minutes.
It’s a huge blow for the Mavericks as the depth chart at center has been decimated. Dereck Lively has been out for a while, Anthony Davis just suffered an injury, Dwight Powell is out and P.J. Washington is injured. That leaves Kylor Kelley the last man standing.
