I’m here with a rundown of all the best Super Bowl commercials, as curated by my personal taste. I’ve got write-ups on my three favorites, plus links to my honorable mentions.
Best Super Bowl LIX commercials – runners up
Jeep: Freedom (w/ Harrison Ford)
Tonight, Harrison Ford reminded us that life doesn’t come with an owner’s manual—the adventure is writing your own. Watch our Big Game spot to hear what’s in Harrison’s personal owner’s manual. pic.twitter.com/XKNE6mcU2z

Harrison Ford doesn’t do too many voiceovers—or at least not enough for folks who find his voice to be enchanting, like myself—so seeing a long form ad in which he’s the leading man was captivating from the jump. Throw in some meaningful reminders about heroism and courage, a bevy of takes on what freedom really means, and a play on words with Harrison’s own last name’s conflict of interest with the brand of car he’s advertising, and you’ve got a clear winner here.
Michelob Ultra (Pickleball with Willem DaFoe, Catherine O’Hara)
25K RTs and we might make the sequel of our #SuperBowlLIX commercial 👀 pic.twitter.com/9qMt9uT2Hk

These two don’t often lose, but they don’t ever lose in the 2020s. And that’s sort of the point of the commercial, no?
Pringles: Call the Mustache
There’s just about nothing that Adam Brody can do these days that I can’t get behind. And his deadpan, world-weary cap to the commercial—”I’m just gonna go to the store.”—is absolutely reminiscent of his fantastic performance in Kid Detective. One of the most underrated movies out there in the last five years.
Are you stacked up for #SBLIX? #AdamBrody isn't & faces a @Pringles crisis, but mustaches from @Nick_Offerman, @JHarden13, #AndyReid & Mr. Potato Head swoop in to (almost) save the day. Viewers loved the chaos, scoring 13% above the Likeability norm.https://t.co/BG4NV3y9ME pic.twitter.com/fyyCYVFxGB

Best commercial of Super Bowl LIX
Ritz: Salty (w/ Aubrey Plaza, Michael Shannon, and Bad Bunny)
even the saltiest can’t resist loving Ritz. see you on 2/9 🏈 #Ritzsaltyclub pic.twitter.com/6vt2c91Y9m
— RITZ Crackers (@Ritzcrackers) February 7, 2025
Watching Michael Shannon gruffly chastise a Ritz cracker for being a “buttery, salty showoff,” is all this commercial needed to automatically catapult it to an early and commanding lead over all over advertisement eventualities from the game. I believe this one aired during the second quarter.
Aubrey Plaza calling herself “the human version of Monday” aligns perfectly with her singular joie de vivre, no?
I don’t think this would’ve won outright without Michael Shannon’s ridiculous hair.
