Super Bowl Best Bets: Saquon Barkley Prop Bets for Chiefs vs. Eagles

There’s history on the line in Super Bowl LIX. The Chiefs are looking to win their third consecutive Super Bowl — a feat never before accomplished. In order to make history, Kansas City will have to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

These two teams matched up two years ago in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs won this round 38-35. Many of each team’s key players remain the same. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones headline the Chiefs, while Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith lead an Eagles offense.

The main difference in this year’s Super Bowl is Saquon Barkley. The running back signed with the Eagles during this past offseason and ran for over 2,000 rushing yards in his first year in Philadelphia.

Barkley’s historic season was one of the leading reasons why the Eagles have been so good this year. If they win Super Bowl LIX, he will likely have made his mark.

Below, I’ve identified my favorite prop bets centered around Barkley.

Best Saquon Barkley Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Saquon Barkley 15+ receiving yards (+102)

Barkley is not known for his receiving game, and he’s coming off a regular season in which he ran for over 2,000 yards. So why am I taking him to hit 15+ receiving yards?

Value and opportunity. Barkley has hit this line in just one of his last eight outings, but the line is low and has plus odds. All it takes is one play to hit the over, and the Eagles could draw up a pass play for Barkley considering it’s the Super Bowl. Nothing is off limits in the Super Bowl, and sometimes an unexpected play could turn the tides in one’s favor.

The Chiefs’ defense is great, but it’s more potent stopping the run than the pass. Kansas City will be expecting runs from Barkley and Hurts, so it would be keen of Philadelphia to get Barkley active in the passing attack.

As mentioned before, one good reception is all Barkley needs, so it’s worth the risk at plus value. Barkley has hit the mark in seven of 19 games this season, including three playoff games. The 15+ mark is a slight bump up from his over/under line of 13.5.

Barkley’s next line up is 25+ receiving yards, which is a bit too much for my liking. That said, it’s valued at +237 for those looking for more juice. The veteran back has at least 25 receiving yards in five of 19 games this season.

Saquon Barkley under 112.5 rushing yards (-112)

Here’s another prop bet that may seem confusing. Betting against the NFL’s leading rusher is a dangerous play, but Barkley will face a top-10 run defense.

The Chiefs allow the eighth fewest rushing yards and attempts, 10th fewest rushing touchdowns and seventh least yards per rush. The defense, led by Jones, is a major reason why the Chiefs have won so many games this year.

Barkley will be on the front page of the scouting report just as he’s been all season. Kansas City will likely focus on slowing down the run as its helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl.

Against other top rushing defenses, Barkley failed to hit the over 112.5 mark. The Ravens, Buccaneers, Steelers and Packers allow the least, fourth, sixth and seventh least rushing yards to opponents, respectively.

In matchups with those teams, Barkley rushed for 107 yards against the Ravens, 84 against the Buccaneers, 65 against the Steelers and 109 against the Packers. A similar outing against the Chiefs seems likely.
