After missing four games in a row with a hamstring injury, Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert has been excellent since returning, averaging 60.75 receiving yards per game and clearing 52.5 receiving yards in three of those four contests. The tight end has seen no limitations in the playoffs and his usage has been truly elite. While running a route on 74% of his team’s dropbacks, Goedert has garnered a massive 29% target share this postseason, tied with A.J. Brown for the highest on the team. Goedert has caught 83% of his targets and is leading Philadelphia in YPRR at 2.54 in the playoffs, which ranks eighth among all pass catchers this postseason.
On top of the elite role and efficiency, Goedert now meets a Chiefs defense whose main weakness this season has been stopping tight ends. Kansas City is allowing the most receiving yards (1,276) and the most yards per reception in the NFL (8.7) to the position. Additionally, quarterbacks are completing passes to tight ends at the third-highest clip in the league when facing the Chiefs (78.1%).
This 52.5-receving yard line is just too low for Goedert in this spot, so backing him for this over is a must for Super Bowl LIX.
