Chiefs vs. Eagles Teaser Pick: Super Bowl Best Bets

Published:

By: Julian Edlow

The Chiefs and Eagles will meet in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years, as Kansas City looks for a three-peat, while Philly looks for revenge for two years ago in Arizona. I’ll have several bets on the game, and will put them all out in article form leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. The one future I do have in pocket is Chiefs (+550) to win the Super Bowl, so a lot of my bets will be working off that. I think this should be a terrific game and a close game, so I might try to find ways to both cash that future, while backing the Eagles in other ways, as I feel they’ll have some success in this game.

Here’s a Super Bowl bet for the game that I believe has a great chance to cash.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday, February 9th (New Orleans, LA) 6:30pm ET

I’m expecting a tight game here, just like we got the last time these teams faced off in the Super Bowl. It’s become the narrative that the Chiefs are always playing in close games, and it hasn’t been false. Kansas City has now played in 19 games this season, and teasing the opponent to +7.5 would be 13-6 in those games. On the flip side of that, the Eagles have only lost a game by more than seven points once this season, making them 19-1 when getting +7.5. Regardless of who you like to win, we’ve got a favorite that doesn’t blow its opposition out facing a team that doesn’t get blown out. Good spot to tease Philly up over a touchdown.

That leaves us with the total in the game, which I brought down from 48.5 to 42.5. When these teams met in Arizona, the final score was 38-35, and while the defenses are probably slightly improved, Philadelphia’s offense is dramatically improved with Saquon Barkley in the mix. Kansas City had some issues stopping James Cook in the AFC Championship Game, so I’m expecting Barkley to get his. We saw 61 points in the AFC Championship, and 78 in the NFC Championship Game, both of which were played outdoors in cold climates. Bringing these offenses indoors should result in some offense. I like the over in the game, and teasing it down to 42.5 feels extremely obtainable.

Super Bowl Bet: 6PT Teaser – PHI +7.5/OVER 42.5 (-120) – 2-units
