Smith’s target share has been at 19.5% in the postseason, which is a huge drop from the 28.6% target share he garnered in the regular season. A.J. Brown and a healthy Dallas Goedert have hogged all the usage in the Eagles’ passing attack, with each player handling a 29% target share during the playoffs.
While the Chiefs have been vulnerable on the ground this postseason, they have been stingy against receivers, giving up the fifth-fewest yards per pass to the position of the 14 playoff teams (8.4). Furthermore, Kansas City is allowing the fourth-lowest completion percentage (65%) and fifth-fewest YAC to receivers (80). Notably, 37% of Smith’s yards have come after the catch this season.
The Eagles should continue to rely on Saquon Barkley and their running game in the Super Bowl, and Smith should stay under this 52.5-yard line.
