Will Travis Kelce catch a touchdown in Super Bowl LIX?

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Travis Kelce is listed at +140 odds to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl, and he carries +1000 odds to score two or more times.

The Chiefs tight end found the end zone just three times during the regular season in 16 games, the lowest scoring total of his entire career (barring his rookie season with just one game played). It was an up-and-down campaign for Kelce, and the playoffs haven’t been an exception, either.

In the Chiefs’ first game of this postseason, Kelce torched the Texans for 7 catches, 117 yards, and one score. The very next week, though, he turned into an atypical playoff pumpkin against the Bills with just two catches for 19 yards on his four targets. At this point, it’s a bit difficult to tell which version of the 35-year-old will show up any given week.

However, that doesn’t mean he’s a bad bet to score on Sunday. Kelce’s track record in the postseason is one of the most impressive resumes in NFL history. In 24 playoff appearances, the tight end boasts 174 catches, 2,039 yards, and 20 touchdowns. Traditionally speaking, he’s the focal point of the Kansas City offense come playoff time, and it’s not hard to believe he could find the end zone once again if he can rise to the occasion under the bright lights this weekend.

The Eagles will look to neutralize Kelce, but he’s a legend of the game. Despite his age and declining physical abilities, he’s still a top talent and possesses an uncanny ability to find soft spots in zone coverage. It also doesn’t hurt that Patrick Mahomes is a playoff riser, as well. At plus-money, taking Kelce to score a touchdown in Super Bowl LIX isn’t a bad idea.
