The Superdome will host the Super Bowl for the seventh time in history. This is the second time in the previous 12 years that New Orleans, Louisiana, has hosted the big game, the most in that period. This is the 10th Super Bowl in New Orleans, second all-time behind Miami, which has hosted the event 11 times.
This year, the Kansas City Chiefs, the 14-2 AFC Champions, will take on a familiar opponent in the 13-3 NFC champion Philaldpehia Eagles. The two teams first met in the big game at Super Bowl LII two years ago. Kansas City won that game 38-33.
The last one to take place in New Orleans was in 2013. Super Bowl XLVII took place at the Superdome. The Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in that contest. Although more Super Bowls have been hosted in Miami, the Superdome has held the most by a single venue in history. The Eagles lost to the Oakland Raiders at Super Bowl XV in New Orleans.
