With the clock winding down before the NBA Trade Deadline on Thursday, there are nine games scheduled for on the court on Wednesday night with several exciting matchups on tap, including the expected debut of De’Aaron Fox ($8,000) with the new-look Spurs. The nine-game fantasy basketball slate on DraftKings tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET when the Spurs visit the Hawks in one of three early games followed by three games in a 7:30 p.m. ET wave and three games after that from Western Conference hosts. Let’s take a look at the 18 teams in the player pool and find the top NBA DFS stacks for Wednesday, February 5.
Since the Nets, Bulls, Cavs, Heat, Sixers and Raptors are all playing for a second straight day, it will be especially important to keep a close eye on today’s injury report for the latest availability updates as we approach game time, and be sure to adjust your roster where needed. There are plenty of big names still on that injury report and uncertain to play, so much is still to be decided in terms of value and usage.
With what we know going into the day, here are my top NBA DFS Stacks for Wednesday’s DFS fantasy basketball contests on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $300K Floor General [$100K to 1st].
Denver Nuggets vs. New Orleans Pelicans
I had the Nuggets in my top spot on Monday in this same matchup, and they delivered 125 points and strong fantasy games across the board. They’ll take on the Pelicans again on Wednesday in another favorable matchup. No team in the NBA has allowed more points per game over their last ten contests than the Pelicans, and the Nuggets rank eighth during that span as well. As they did on Monday, the Nuggets have the highest implied team total based on the odds on DraftKings Sportsbook, and they’ll also still be without Russell Westbrook (hamstring) and Peyton Watson (knee). Aaron Gordon ($4,900; calf) also missed Monday’s game after a late addition to the injury report and is questionable Wednesday.
Core Plays: Nikola Jokic ($12,800) is extremely expensive, but you can argue he’s still underpriced since he continues to break slates with massive outputs. He has back-to-back triple-doubles with 83.25 fantasy points and 70 fantasy points. Even with Jokic getting so much production. Jamal Murray ($7,700) and Michael Porter Jr. ($6,400) are also great plays, especially with Westbrook’s usage available. MPJ had 36 points and 52.75 fantasy points in 41 minutes on Monday and usually gets a very heavy workload with Westbrook and Gordon out.
Value Options: Christian Bruan ($5,500) was also excellent in the last two games without Russ, posting 47.25 fantasy points and 26.5 fantasy points in the last two games. Julian Strawther ($3,900) also has been picking up more work off the bench with over 24 fantasy points in two of his last three contests. Zeke Nnaji ($3,600) has also re-entered the frontcourt rotation, playing over 20 minutes and producing 21.75 and 20.75 fantasy points in his last two games.
Chicago Bulls at Minnesota Timberwolves
The Bulls already sent Zach LaVine out in a trade and could make more moves before the deadline, possibly including Nikola Vucevic ($8,200). The LaVine trade has opened usage in the backcourt and a possible Vucevic deal would do the same in the frontcourt creating huge opportunities.
Core Plays: Without LaVine, Josh Giddey ($7,100) and Coby White ($6,500) both have the potential for heavy usage in the backcourt, especially if Lonzo Ball ($5,000) sits out the second night of the team’s back-to-back after playing 29 minutes against Miami on Tuesday. Ayo Dosunmu ($5,700) now has SF/PF eligibility but also will get more work in the backcourt after LaVine’s departure. Dosunmu had 21 points and 41.5 fantasy points against the Heat and could be in for a huge finish to the season if work continues to come his way. He’s still very affordable under $6,000 as well.
Value Options: While he doesn’t have quite the ceiling of Dosunmu and the other options mentioned above, Patrick Williams ($4,500) is surging as well with double-digit points in five straight games and over 25 fantasy points in four of those contests. Matas Buzelis ($4,000) got everyone’s attention by going ten-for-ten from the field for 24 points and 32 fantasy points on Tuesday and has 20+ fantasy points in three of his last four. If Vucevic gets traded or at least sits out Wednesday night, Jalen Smith ($3,900) would also be a great play since he has been so productive in his limited minuts and could step into a much larger role.
Memphis Grizzlies at Toronto Raptors
The Grizzlies play at the fastest pace in the NBA and rank in the top five in offensive efficiency as well. They head to Toronto on Wednesday to take on the Raptors, who have multiple injuries to deal with as they finish their back-to-back. Memphis has scored 120+ points in six of its last seven games and has won nine of its last ten. Additionally, there should be extra usage available with Desmond Bane (foot) out, leaving more upside for the rest of the roster.
Core Plays: Ja Morant ($9,000) is the clear catalyst for the offense and had 52.75 fantasy points in his return from a two-game abesence on Monday against the Spurs. He will get more work without Bane and is a nightly threat for a double-double and 50+ fantasy points. Jaren Jackson Jr. ($8,300) has also been outstanding lately, posting 49.75 fantasy points on Sunday against the Bucks and 51.5 fantasy points against the Spurs on Monday in back-to-back wins over big-name big men.
Value Options: Zach Edey ($4,800) could also get the benefit of the matchup after posting a nice double-double in each of the Grizzlies’ last two games. He has over 35 DraftKings points in four of his last six games and seems very cheap under $5,000. Without Bane, Luke Kennard ($4,300) and Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,200) will get more work in the backcourt. GG Jackson ($3,800) had 27 points and 39.5 fantasy points in a breakout game on Monday, and if he gets playing time, he could also stay on the radar as a solid fantasy play. Both Vince Williams Jr. ($3,000; ankle) and Marcus Smart ($3,800; finger) are questionable and nearing their return from injury.
