Kevin Durant Injury Update: February 7 vs. the Hawks

UPDATE: Durant is questionable for Friday.

The Phoenix Suns are in the middle of plenty of swirling trade rumors coming into their Wednesday night matchup against the Thunder. With plenty of uncertainty about his long-term future, Kevin Durant (ankle) won’t play in this contest as the Suns visit his old stomping grounds in Oklahoma City, according to Senior NBA Insider Chris B. Haynes.

On Monday, Durant sustained an ankle sprain while playing a season-high 46 minutes in the Suns’ overtime loss to Portland. He finished with 27 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and one steal for 45.75 fantasy points. It isn’t clear how much of Wednesday’s absence is due to the ankle injury and how much is due to a potential trade, but at least we have clarity that he won’t be taking the court well in advance of game time.

With Durant out, there will be more time and usage available for Royce O’Neale ($4,300), rookie Ryan Dunn ($3,500) and Grayson Allen ($4,200) at forward while Bradley Beal ($5,900) could potentially move into the starting lineup. Those options could be solid value plays on Wednesday night’s two-game Night Slate on DraftKings, highlighted by the NBA $100K Fadeaway [$20K to 1st] (Night).

Regardless of where he plays the rest of this season, Durant won’t play tonight in OKC, so set your lineups accordingly.
