Randle has missed two games in a row with an adductor injury, and the big man is expected to miss at least two weeks. In his first season with the Timberwolves, Randle is averaging 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 32.6 minutes per game.
With Randle sidelined, Naz Reid should continue to start at power forward and put up strong numbers for Minnesota. The LSU product hurt his finger and was limited in the first of these past two with Randle out, but in the next contest, Reid erupted for 30 points across 40 minutes vs. the Kings, both of which set season-highs for the big man. Also, Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels should continue see all the minutes they can handle, and Anthony Edwards should flourish as the Timberwolves’ undisputed top scorer. With Randle off the floor this season, Edwards’ usage rises 2.3 percentage points to 33.9%.
Minnesota has lost these past two games without Randle, but Edwards missed the first of these two and statistically, the Timberwolves defense has been 3.4 points better with Randle off the floor this season. Hosting a Bulls team that has lost six of their last ten and is playing their second game in two nights, Minnesota should get back on track Wednesday with a convincing win. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Timberwolves are a 11.5-point favorite over Chicago.
