Dallas Goedert Start or Sit: DraftKings Fantasy Football Super Bowl Millionaire DFS Showdown

The Super Bowl kicks off this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, giving DFS fantasy football players one more shot at glory before the offseason. DraftKings is handing out plenty of big prizes if you can get the right lineup on this Showdown slate, so let’s take a look at if it makes sense to start or sit Eagles TE Dallas Goedert in the season finale.

DraftKings has a variety of contests to choose from this Sunday, and the biggest prize is in the NFL $5M Super Bowl LIX Millionaire [$1M to 1st, TD Throne Eligible] that offers a $1 Million top prize for a $20 entry.

TE Dallas Goedert ($5,800 in FLEX)

Goedert costs less than the backup quarterbacks in the Showdown contests but he brings a very high ceiling if he’s involved in the Eagles offense. For the season, he averaged 11.4 fantasy points per game in his 13 games. He missed time with injuries a couple times during the season but doesn’t have an injury designation for this week, meaning he should be a full go against Kansas City.

In the Eagles offense, Goedert is a trusted pass catcher. He had at least four catches in each of the team’s three playoff games this season, hauling in seven-of-eight targets from QB Jalen Hurts ($10,400) last week against Washington for 85 yards and 16.8 fantasy points. He started his run of postseason success with this memorable bully touchdown against the Packers:

He had 14.7 fantasy points in that game, and he has over nine fantasy points in five straight games and in seven of his last eight dating back to the regular season.

Other players under $6,000 have boom-or-bust upside but none match the high ceiling or the consistent production of Goedert throughout the season. On top of that, the Chiefs have been very generous this season to tight ends. Opposing tight ends caught an average of six receptions per game against the Chiefs with a total of five touchdowns and an average of over 65 yards per game.

Given the matchup and how involved he is in the Eagles passing game, Goedert is a must-start in almost every roster construction since he brings the highest floor and the highest ceiling of the affordable plays.

You could even build around Goedert as an affordable Captain’s Pick, allowing you to stack stars in your FLEX spot and avoid having to take a flier or punt a UTIL spot. Goedert would have to find the end zone to deliver a high enough total for your Captain’s Pick, but the benefit is that if he does, the rest of your lineup can be stacked with studs.

The verdict: Start Dallas Goedert vs. the Chiefs
