If I have to write about another Kansas City Chief’s potential performance in a Super Bowl, I decided I was going to make it about the young man I can’t fault for dominating my Februarys the past two years. Can’t blame a rookie, right? And what a ride it’s been for Xavier Worthy this season, with the latest installment having been his 11-yard touchdown catch that helped his team take the lead over the visiting Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.

The story of Worthy’s season indeed is one of total ascension in Andy Reid’s offense. Betting-wise, he’s become a true rushing + receiving yards market stud, and returned FLEX value in season-long fantasy leagues. Though, to be fair, most managers drafted him as a potential FLEX asset, what with the off-field concerns with Rashee Rice’s traffic violations that preceded his season-ending injury. Still a rare thing for a rookie asset to return proportional value, especially one with as much hype as Worthy.
And, after several winter games in which Worthy has made crucial plays like the above, his hype-train is pulling into New Orleans this week with great anticipation. Let’s take a look at some of Worthy’s best available prop bets, and evaluate him for DraftKings’ Super Bowl Showdown contest.
Xavier Worthy’s best prop bets for Super Bowl 2025
His markets are definitely going to be a bit hard to evaluate, given Worthy’s gadget usage and yards-total volatility, but fans of no. 1 out of the University of Texas have plenty to sprinkle on for this year’s big game. Personally? Worthy’s one of the only people for whom I’m interested in rooting on the Kansas City side.
All to say: these are, in my opinion, the most endearing and, more importantly, enticing bets DraftKings Sportsbook is offering for Worthy.
Super Bowl LIX Special: X Gon’ Give It To Ya! (Xavier Worthy to have 15+ rush yards & 85+ receiving yards [+750])
This is obviously climbing his ladders a little bit with regards to his actual yardage markets, but if my math is right, there’s a little extra juice on this special. Consider this your reminder to check all tabs and subtabs of available bets on your DraftKings Sportsbook app.
At almost eight times your wager, I don’t think this is bad to sprinkle on at all. Worthy is clearly the best man-beater on the Chiefs, if only because of the way the Kansas City braintrust schemes plays for him. Mahomes’ rapport with Hollywood Brown is clearly nascent in its arc, and understandably so, considering Hollywood missed all of the regular season with an injury. He may catch a few passes, but they won’t be the most dynamic plays.
The 15+ rushing yards is where I could see this bet getting caught up. No doubt Reid, Nagy, and Mahomes will dial up a jet sweep or two to Worthy, but the Eagles’ secondary can play run-support with the best of them, and are exceptional against plays at the line of scrimmage.
Having said that, Worthy’s about four catches and one good block away from hitting this bet in the Super Bowl. And I expect the Chiefs to scheme creative ways to get him the ball. No doubt Vic Fangio is going to have Cooper Dejean, Reed Blankenship, Quinyon Mitchell, and Darius Slay all with at least one eye on Worthy the whole game. But, again, this feels totally within the realm of possibility.
Let’s see if it pays off in dividends.

I wouldn’t double-down with the above bet unless you’re a Worthy superfan, but this will likely be my heaviest Worthy bet. I know this sounds silly to say, but it’s worth saying: The Chiefs simply want to win the game to impress their name on the tablets of history. They’re not going to look to stretch their offense against this Philadelphia secondary.
They’re going to stick to what’s been working: power rushing, in-breaking routes, Worthy as a crosser/wheeler/gadget LOS player, Kelce as their zone-beater, and excellent blocking schemes. There’s no reason the Chiefs need to do anything special against this Eagles team, unless the gamescript has them playing from behind big. Which, frankly, would only help this bet.
Worthy has a shot to be this year’s Super Bowl MVP if he snakes in a rushing touchdown on top of a solid receiving game. To wit —

It’s a longshot. But, again, what we like here is that non-quarterback skill players like Julian Edelman have won this award in the past. And, given Worthy’s pedigree as a scrimmage yards churner, it’s entirely possible that the odds on this bet get a heck of a lot shorter should he see success and paydirt on the ground. I think it’s too distinct a possibility to ignore, so I’m sprinkling a fraction of a unit on this one, while everyone else will likely be sprinkling on Travis Kelce or Chris Jones.

If you’re not taking either Barkley or Hurts as your Captain’s Pick, I’d urge you to consider Worthy as the marquee CP on the Kansas City side of the ball. We’ve spent this entire sheet talking about how Worthy is a yardage machine, and, in the Super Bowl, that sort of pedigree tends to translate to success. See Cooper Kupp in 2021. Julian Edelman in 2019. Larry Fitzgerald in 2008. You get the picture.
All those guys were safety blankets for their respective quarterbacks, so that might suggest Travis Kelce is the better play here for a ceiling-busting game. I’m not buying into that, simply because I think Vic Fangio’s zone scheme will shrink Kelce’s ability to find soft-spots in coverage.
Instead, I’m going to build a lineup with Worthy as a Captain’s Pick. I think this is going to be a Super Bowl about yardage. Why wouldn’t it be? Patrick Mahomes wasn’t throwing enough yardage for half a season. Neither was Hurts. Barkley was going for a yardage record. The Chiefs’ most dynamic new talent chews up scrimmage yards.
While everyone else is banking on touchdowns, we’re forming our lineup around momentum and volume. If you think Worthy as your CP is a little too gimmicky, he’s a no-brainer for your lineups as a FLEX at that $8,000 price tag.
