Just days after the Cleveland Browns organization made it clear that they weren’t whatsoever open to trading superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett, Garrett took to social media this morning and hard-launched his official request to be traded to a contender.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport noted also that Garrett officially submitted a similar request privately to the Cleveland Browns before taking to his social media handles.
This isn’t exactly a surprise, as Garrett remains one of the elite game-wreckers in the NFL headed into his ninth season. The Browns have had nothing short of a quarterback carousel fit for a circus during his time there, which has left the offense listless, the organization clueless, and the defense helpless to materially affect a season-long record.
Should Garrett leave Cleveland, he’d do so as a franchise leader in so many defensive statistics. He was the fastest Brown in history to 50 sacks, having done it in only 59 games. He is the franchise sack leader, and tied the records for the Browns’ most single-season and single-game sacks. He’s also been remarkably consistent, just as recently as this past season—he’s reached 10+ sacks in a season four of his eight seasons played.
